Now my understanding of the weapon system is that the weapon adds extra damage to your golem's attack on top of its own damage. But I recently attacked an iron golem using one of those screaming masks and it was doing 4 or 5 damage per hit. This confused me as an iron golem's minimum damage is 6. Is this a bug or a feature of ranged weapons? |

Not all weapons add damage. The flamethrower, for example, does a set amount, and I suspect most ranged weapons do also. If it's a set amount then it probably doesn't include the strength, thus is reducable beyond the normal strength-determined minimum. Maybe it isn't intentional, but if it is it's just the tradeoff you make for being able to do elemental damage at a range. Also, since when did NWO have ranged weapons? Ya clan hopper! :pLast Edited: Aug 29, 2008, 1:32 pm |

Recently attacked an iron golem using an iron mask, not attacked with. Apparently she hit one of my clanmates, as I'm pretty sure we're the only ones with that technology at this point. (runs off to check the logs) Yeah, one of us. The minimum damage for ranged weapons weems to be 2, regardless of the golem's base attack. |

Min damage is due to strength, and ranged weapons do not use strength as a modifier. Thus two(2) should be the min damage for a ranged weapon. That's probably what you're seeing. KepLast Edited: Aug 29, 2008, 2:27 pm |

Does that mean it's a bug that my copper golem only took 1 point of damage from an iron flametongue then? |

I just looked at the code and min damage is one(1) when the strength bonus is not applied, and one(1) plus strength bonus when it is. When the strength bonus is applied, typically the min damage becomes two(2), which is why I had that number in my head. Kep |
