It doesn't give a limit to how long the Reason/quote can be. I tried to post a fairly long one and got this as for the error message: 'Sorry, sir,' says the secretary. 'All referendum submissions must have a reason. Please don't waste the senate's time with meaningless filings.' Reason give was 160 words and 918 characters long. |

We dodged the problem for now, but it would be nice if it were fixed for the future. If it is the character limit that would be sad, what's wrong with my verbosity that I run into it so often? |

The limit on the reason is 250 characters. I've added that to the senate page next to the text entry. That'll have to do for now. I'm planning to revist the text validation stuff later on to properly let you know when you've gone over a limit rather than just blanking out the text. Kep |

My solution has always been to just make the maximum length of the text area equal to the max length it'll accept in the database, thus preventing anyone from physically entering more characters than I want them to. |

It has to do with the sanitation routines I wrote to make sure player input is valid. Right now, none of the routines will return a reason why a value gets rejected, it'll just reject them. Kep |
