So, I was attacked twice yesterday (or the day before? Can't remember now) by a mage (Stenos, if it matters), which is all well and good, got myself some XP, but when I went to attack him back, it said I can't find his workshop without a compass, but if he had attacked me I would be able to follow the trail back. I'm kind of new, can't afford a compass; how do I follow the trail? Is there a time limit on that sort of thing?

I think you have the ability to attack him back if you use the link in your attack report.
