This to me, is by far the biggest thing that needs looking into at the moment. It's messing up lots of parts to the game including a crazy devaluation in the marketplace, excess resources causing an excess of golems (instead of using them to upgrade buildings), and other issues.

One of two things needs to happen:

Money (from monsters and income) is roughly doubled,
or resource rates are roughly halved.

It depends on the speed of progression you want.

I think figuring out this problem should be item #1 on your list of to dos.

Maybe it is just my current level of buildings/research, but I am running out of everything at roughly the same rate.

that changes dramatically once you get to about level 9 buildings. Everyone at this stage hits a huge bottleneck.

Which I think is just fine. ^_^ Gives the rest of us a chance to catch up. If they just gave away money this game would be easy. *shrug*

In the mean time, let your Golems be your resource sink. Pummel people with your superior weaponry to pass the time. :P

sigh...

I guess you'll understand when you get there.

It's not that it's a timesink that is bothersome. I'm OK with having progression slow down. It's that the system is out of whack between resources and money. It needs to be balanced one way or the either.

I believe that 'balancing' it would be detrimental to the game. One of the things that is good about this game is that different people need different things. It's hitting us a bit harder than it will later, because a lot of us are getting to the same game phases at the same time, but it's for the good of the game that things are like this.

In the early game, resources were worth a lot. Nobody makes quite as much as they want. Two weeks ago, we got a big influx of new players, and the resource prices went up.

Then, when we've taken care of all our resource problems forever and start doing research, money starts being an issue. A lot of people hit that point at the same time, and were shocked to see the market prices for their goods shot to nothing, and all their resource counters in the red...

But, there's only so much research, and development.
In a few months, you'll start getting people who don't really need to develop any more, but are still a high level and making lots of money. These people will suddenly be releasing a lot of gold into the economy, and demanding a lot of secondary resources for their projects.

So, there'll be a time, I predict, when you'll be throwing money away, just like you're throwing the primaries away now. In the mean time, just remember that you weren't going to do anything with them anyway. *shrug*

The point of this all, is just that in this game different people need different stuff, but not always what you have. If nobody wants what you've got, or has what you want, you need to find creative solutions, not argue for a change in the rules.

If you feel like you've hit too big of a wall with gold coin income... have you exhausted all other options? There is the option to use the salvage yard. Build golems out of excess resources and sell to the salvage yard. I've supplemented my income rather well using that device.

I love the fact that there is a resource that is basically only available when I am logged off. The fact that at higher levels this is slowing your progresss I find to be a credible game balancing feature - you have to help, sell resources and items, etc the newer players who have more money than resources.

However I do suggest as people place their market orders that ONLY premium players can trade market orders over 2500 - so if you want non premium players to have a chance to buy them keep this in mind.

Or you can wait til you win the lotto
