I just had a golem destroyed in battle. None of the items on that golem(Ruby eyes and alchemical voidstone) showed up for salvage, nor did the clan item(an iron sword) return to the clan. Unless there has been a change to the rules that I didn't catch, this appears to be a glitch. It was a flesh golem fighting in the Mount Kestrel region.

Far as I know this has always been the case. Whenever a golem is completely destroyed any and all items still on it are also completely destroyed. This way items get taken out of circulation rather than piling up.

That personal items are destroyed if they're lost in the same round (or even battle, I forget) as a clan item is a bug, but that they are destroyed when the golem they're attached to dies is not a bug.

Well then, there has apparently been another bug, since every time prior to this that I have lost a golem(which is only 2 or 3 times), the items have been available to salvage by going to the site on the local area map and the clan items have been returned to the clan.

Pretty sure you're incorrect, I've had as much experience destroying golems or getting my golems destroyed as anyone and I've never ran across any exceptions to what I mentioned.

Bugs: If a clan item is on a golem part that gets destroyed any non-clan items on parts destroyed in the same round (possible the same combat) will disappear and possibly reappear if you replace the part later.

If you destroy a golem while a clan item is still attached a message in the clan activity feed will display saying you lost the item and it was returned to the armory, though it won't be returned and is indeed gone for good.

Also, an interesting note: If you lose the head and a clan item in the same round I'm relatively certain that the eyes still give you an accuracy bonus even though the golem doesn't have a head.

Not a bug: Any personal items on golem parts that are destroyed not on a round that the golem itself is destroyed will drop off and be available on the ground. Any personal items on a golem when it is completely destroyed will disappear for good. I.E. You will NEVER (at least until the item or system is changed) be able to scavenge a chest only powersource because if the chest is destroyed, so is the golem, and the item disappears.

If you've found an exception to the above you should probably post or PM Ark with the date/time/golem/target/specifics.

I guess this is related to the terminal blow destroying items. In the same combat round I destroyed someone's head and chest. The info at the bottom said the eyes were lost, but they weren't in the local area when I checked straight away, does the game look at chest destruction before taking into account if an item should drop?

Probably. I don't know the exact workings, but it seems that it lumps everything that happens in the same round together, so if you lose both arms in one round, and one of the arms was holding a clan weapon, all the armor on both arms will disappear because it dropped in the same round as the weapon did. Makes sense that the same would happen with the chest being destroyed.
