Maybe two sister guilds: Mag.U. (Items/Alchemy) and Hearts of Clay (Defense/Spells). This way people can join the guild that suits them best while still have the protection and support of the whole MUnkey Army. And as you seem to plan on having an external website, we could all coordinate and mingle there regardless of actual Clan membership.

BTW, I'd like to sign up for the pre-clan if you would Sterling.

I'd join that Defense clan. PvP interests me not.

I'm still favoring ranged weapons currently. If you attack the kobold archer with it's shortbow, you might see why, it does rather well as a level 2 with very bad resists and 10 hp's. :) We'll see when we find out what each type gets though.

We'll see about the two clan thing.

Signing up the new guys

Just so you guys know...

I've decided to do something different for opting out of PvP on a mage-by-mage basis rather than a clan-basis. As such you won't be locked into choosing Defense as your primary if you don't wish to.

Clan release is coming up soon! Please try to save up your resources, I'd like to start us out with a bang, and be one of the most hard-charging clans right out of the gates.

I personally expect to be contributing at least 100k of all primaries and 25-30k in cash this weekend, assuming they're released.

Btw, I'm happy to manufacture things for the clan. I currently have access to level 5 eyes, level 4 power sources (shortly level 5) level 4 flesh, level 2 bone, level 2 wood, level 1 clay, level 1 stone, level 2 iron, level 1 glass, level 2 copper, level 4 armor (shortly going to level 5)

So pretty much anything most people will want.

Also, I think I've settled on a clan name for us, and don't mind saying it. We'll be called "Magisterius University"

Currently I do not wish to split the clan in two. We'll see how much clan warfare and PvP is occuring, and I'd be happy to let the clan divide if we see it's needful, but I think having us all together will be a better defense than having two guilds, especially with the change to allow complete opt out for PvP.

If all goes well until the release... which is now next week >_<, I should be able to throw in at least 50k of the primaries and I'll see how much cash I can manage to scrounge up.

What are our specializations gonna be in again?
I think we should at least moderately be involved with PvP as we're going to be one of the largest clans on Muelsfell.

And since we're going to have a clan forum on Muelsfell, are we still going to want the other website? If so I can get started on it now as soon as you get back to me.

I messaged about the website, but let's put that on the back burner for now.

For specialities, I have 3 big considerations.

1st is "What gives us the most power in PvE". PvE is important - gets you XP and all kinds of goodies. Ideally, I would like it if our members could PvE a level 4 with a fleshy, if they are well geared up. Ranged and/or defensive seems like a good option for this, but especially ranged.

2nd is "What gives us the most options". Items seems like it will have a LOT of stuff associated, for instance. Having options on how to proceed never seems like a bad idea.

3rd is "What is best for PvP". This is a complicated one. I don't want to be a PvP primary clan, but I do want us to be able to kick ass and take names if provoked, and also be able to discourage attack by others. Ranged seems a good option here too - in that you can put out a cheap golem that is still going to mess someone up. You can't entirely avoid PvP (at least, unless you pay tickets for it) so it's all about making it more costly to be attacked than it's worth, in terms of loot and XP.

It used to be that you could trade someone a golem in hangback mode and it stayed that way - I am wondering if that's still the case, trying to test it.

To me, much of the combat in MU resolves to being able to do the most damage with the lowest motivation cost, that's why I'm considering ranged so heavily.

Mostly I'm hoping we'll get more details before/at the release so we can make a more informed decision

Yeah... I'd like to eventually be able to take down that lvl 12 giant... but he has such a long ranged attack, that most slower golems w/o ranged weapons and settings don't stand a chance in getting close enough to scratch the ugly beast's hide. *sigh*

Pertaining to Arkham's post, I'll be delaying forming the clan until we get the extra info tomorrow night. At that point I'll make a decision and create it. Please read it over when you see it and voice your thoughts :)

well, with no more info forthcoming, I'm going to go with the ranged specialty, as I'd thought about earlier, hopefully it will prove effective in PVE. Clan invites will be sent shortly.

Clan invites went out - but after looking at the stats for ranged weapons, I'm starting to think they kinda blow. May disband and reform, who knows. Join up, make your thoughts known here or in the clan forum.

Not to intrude, but thought I'd pony up that I'm not exactly thrilled with the Defense primary stats, either. I think it may be endemic, and hopefully better stuff comes along with a bigger clan library. Some food for thought.

The 'any clan' melee weapons look good though. They basically seem to give enough of a boost to raise the effective damage of your golem to one 2-3 levels above it.

Hey all!

I'm a long time MU fan, and have been playing this game for a little while now, though not actively on the forums yet.

I am very interested in clan membership, if it is still possible.

I have extensive experience as a clan/guild leader and officer, and would be happy to help in any way possible, though all I seek here is to join my fellow MU fans in this clan.

I linked over here from AE's novel and got hooked. I'd like to join the ToMU if it's not already closed/full.

I'm still working on filling out my library to Iron but I can donate the 40k primaries I've got, and all the secondaries I've never used.

I would like in as well if there is still room. I have been reading AE's works for about 6 months now and I was hooked at the first word. I am not very active on her forums though.

Oh, not being level five might have something to do with it. Never fear, I'll be level five sometime tomorrow so I can join. Wish I'd played more while on vacay, I'd be there by now >.>
