You've been rejected by the best, so it's time to look at the rest...

TENCH-KISARAGI HEAVY INDUSTRIES (OTAKU) is looking for magi like YOU.

We are an informal, non-structured, self-supportive clan that worships the Almighty Gold Piece. We are the oldest clan on Muelsfell since the fall of the Agoroshian Magus Cabal. Tench-Kisaragi Heavy Industries was founded by two magi who have been there since the very beginning (literally) - Joachim and Rigby.

Tench-Kisaragi Heavy Industries enforces an "invite only" recruitment policy, but our Human Resources department has lowered its already low recruiting standards so that anyone with a pulse has a chance join this fine corporate establishment.

We do not discriminate on the bases of age, sex (or lack of); color, creed, religion, national origin, level, alignment, premium status, or score...but we do draw the line at hygiene. We better be able to see you before we can smell you.

We offer our members many benefits such as:
-Very lucrative resource and technology sharing programs
-Access to many clan exclusive golem enhancements and spells
-Chance to work with some of the best and brightest from all over Muelsfell
-Generous recruiting bonuses
-Access to clan resources and facilities when working on your own private projects
-A clan-wide mutual defense deterrence policy
-Discount tickets for friends and family at our new "Thulsa Doom" theme park
-Discount 3-star dining and brawling at our own "Sissel's Roast Beast" restaurant and tavern (try the lobster bisque)

We are the perfect clan for:
-Those who want a secure, challenging environment to improve their art
-Those who believe that knowledge is power
-Those who believe that the only path to true power is patience and hard work
-Those who want to help create a more prosperous Muelsfell
-Those who like profit - gold or otherwise
-Those who like to blow stuff up
-Those of you that thought that the movie "Animal House" was a documentary
-Hot chicks who are into ugly guys

If you feel that this is the right clan for you...or if you have no place else to go, please contact any of our members. Please tell us a little about yourself, your goals, and what you expect to gain from clan membership. Please do not be discouraged if you do not hear from us immediately. We are not planning on making a really big recruitment drive until clans are fully incorporated into the game...and we also procrastinate A LOT.

We still have a few slots open for the first recruitment cycle. If you are interested in joining or maybe just have questions, please do not hesitate to PM me.

Hope to hear from you soon.

-Joachim
Sovereign Magistrate, Tench-Kisaragi Heavy Industries

The fine print - Clan Rules (please note that this is a work in progress):
-We do not endorse PvP. Our members are encouraged not to take this course of action unless it is in retaliation to an unprovoked attack. We do not attack as a clan unless it is a retaliatory action.
-All clan exclusive equipment and golems are clan property and are to be returned to the clan in the event of member dismissal (both voluntary and involuntary).
-All members are expected to be an active and contributing part of the game. Inactivity of more than a month without reason is grounds for dismissal. Please contact the Sovereign Magistrate if you are going on inactive status for any reason.
-All members are expected to contribute reasonable amounts of time, gold, and resources to clan projects. Clan member taxation will hopefully never be needed to enforce this policy.
-Nobody picks on the noobs...if there's anybody watching.

All members and pledges please read Arkham's post on clans and send me a message on what you think. Right now I'm thinking "Item" and "Defensive" as our specializations.

Bitchin', thanks.

I think Items or Melee Weapons would be good for primary and Defensive(?) for secondary.

If we got the jump on the melee weapons, we could make a lot of money for our clan selling them. Likewise with items, but without seeing the list of items I would have to assume that weapons would be more desirable.

Perhaps taking the other one as secondary would be better. As it specifies that the primary path is permanent, this leads me to believe that the secondary is not. It seems like pvp is not a huge thing + Mu seems mostly non-pvp, so going defensive secondary could be a waste. With melee as 1 and items as 2, we could truly be quite industrious and prosperous.

Hey there, it looks like I'm going to be founding one of the other early clans here.

I'd like to just offer my congratulations on your clan being another one, and let you guys know that ours is not particularly interested in nasty clan wars. So I think we'll happy to entertain trade/peace agreements, when the time comes. Naturally this is a bit premature since we haven't started yet, but it's best to send out the olive branch early.

Your clan sounds interesting... I'm not much of a joiner, but I see that joining a network of like minded magus wouldn't be a bad idea...

I am of a defensive-alchemist bent... What say you?

The MU people seem to want to go that route as well. The problem I have with it is if nobody attacks you, a defensive primary is useless. And changing golems from one type to another seems interesting, but I'd rather wait and see if it'd end up just being easier making the golem type you want to begin with.

I think it will be easier to build the golem to begin with (as they only get the resistance bonus), from reading the thread...

*diverted from her original purpose*

Anyway.

The idea was, I'm watching you. In a good way.

Dammit, I shouldn't have re-read your recruitment post. [sigh] So I'm giving in to the niggling voice in the back of my head saying I won't be able to keep running a clan in the long run, so... uh, got room for one more?

Um, hi.

I just founded the Desert Artisans Guild-- you might have heard of it? Anyway, I don't want any trouble, as we're (currently) the only other non-PvP clan in the Realm

Greetings and salutations to Ileazar and the Desert Artisans Guild! We don't want any trouble either. Just to clarify, I never said that we are a "non-PvP" clan. We are a clan that dislikes PvP but will not hesitate to act if our members or interest are threatened.

--Do you have a How-To manual on how to run a clan, and if so, how could I acquire it?

Kinda. It's currently being written and revised as we go along. :D

--Would you mind terribly if I were to blatantly steal any or all of your ideas?

Not terribly, as long as it is creatively rewritten and we get royalties sometime in the future...
Here's to many years of a mutually profitable relationship!

The Spice must flow...

I dunno Ileazar. The idea of a regional/terrain based clan is a great idea. I say give it a shot.

Oh, I still like the regional clan idea. I think it's a bit early for them though-- at least till there are more clans and players.

Besides, I can always sponge what I can and try my hand at the DAG later.... Wait, did I say that out loud?

We're almost certainly not going to be defensive primary.

Hmm, the new update to the clan info sticky makes it interesting. My idea of melee primary was strictly for profit, but since you can't sell the items, there goes that idea. I assume items are not able to be sold either. But, since it seems as if there's a pacifist clan and an aggressor clan, our "don't look for it, don't run from it" philosphy on pvp makes me wonder if melee primary and defense secondary would be useful.

Ah what am I saying? With no info but the titles and a tiny summary, it's pretty much impossible to declare anything for primary and secondary. If you could change secondary, then at least we could pick the primary that seems to best fit and then test out the other categories, but no go there.

Eh? Are my dishpan hands that bad?

I move for Ranged as at least a secondary, if only because I'm partial to fast little bone golems running around with longbows....

Alchemy is interesting-- "golems and resources" to be transmuted-- turning excess bone and clay into iron would be pretty sweet.

Alrighty. Clan formation is less than a week away so it's time for an update:

As you well know, our clan primary is going to be "Items". Since Arkham implemented a new PvP/Non-PvP system, our choice for secondary is still in the air. I'm still leaning towards "Defensive", since the new PvP system works on an individual level, and it does not affect clan vs. clan combat...

(sigh)

...okay, executive decision time. Our secondary is going to be "Defensive" unless someone can convince me otherwise. Please PM me if you feel that you have a good arguement.

Also, please congratulate Caduceus on finally making it to double digits.

Greetings. I'm relatively new to this realm, but having a group of like-minded associates for mutual protection and benefit is sound business sense. I would like to know more about applying for membership in your organization.

I'm really interested in the sound of the Items Primary, and I'm all about making money ;) PvP isn't a really big draw for me, so a Defense secondary sounds like a good choice from my point of view. Please let me know what I can/need to do for you folks.

If you have a pulse, you're qualified. :)

Please read the clan recruitment plug at the beginning of this thread. If you feel that we're the clan for you, then accept the invitation that you will receive when the clan forms.

Ok, here's my attempt at dissuading you from Defensive Secondary.

1. ToMu seems to be going that route
2. Only 1 other PvP clan
3. It seems the majority of people playing don't want to pvp
4. Strength in numbers - a strong clan means we don't have to worry as much
5. Good offense is the best defense - If we went melee, who'd dare attack a golem with a flamethrower or something?

Here's why I think it should be Melee secondary (honestly, if it were up to me I'd do melee 1 and items 2):
1. "Walk softly and carry a big stick" - people will not be as willing to pvp us if they know our golems are bristling with weaponry
2. Defensive is only useful for pvp. If people don't attack us, it's a useless secondary. Weapons are useful for hunting and pvp, especially retaliatory attacks.
3. Nobody else seems to be going that route
4. Weapons are just plain cool
