first of all, thank you SO much for finally implementing the RP forum - it was a wonderful surprise ^_^ It would save me some time, though, if the words "Muelsfell Game Forum" and "Clan Forum: whatever clan" turned blue there were icons for the individual forums that could change when there were new posts the way individual boards and individual threads do. It's a little thing but it'd let me know if anyone has posted by just going to one overall page. EDIT: argh, brain farted on how new posts worked for some reason.Last Edited: Oct 10, 2008, 7:18 pm |

Or perhaps be able to subscribe to threads and get a message/report when there is a new post? Not sure if that is exactly what you were looking for but that could also be a useful option. (Begins waiting for someone to point out "we already have that you missed it dummy" like last time he replied about forum stuff) |

Another thing I find myself longing for is subforums, and the ability to move threads (of course only on the clan forums I've got mod powers over). |

Or actually deleting threads instead of hiding them... That would be spiffy. I'd also love to be able to split threads myself. It's amazing how if you post, "This post is for specific information only, please don't post anything else here", it inevitably draws a dozen off-topic posts. Being able to split them out into their own threads would be nice. |

Trying to moderate a forum without being able to actually delete threads/posts, split threads, and create sub-forums is maddening. |

It would... yes... I think I have it, a possibility! They are endless indeed. Though I know not if the coding would allow it, but to have a clan 'chat room' built straight into the coding for Muelsfell would be nice. Call them Taverns or Inns, or WarRooms, their names could be endless... But the options there for a Public/Clan-only Chatroom, within Muelsfell and regulated by our ID's, would allow people to sit down and plan, brag, boast and toast others. As well one wouldn't need IRC clients to connect to others, not that clans that do should stop... A thought... yes... Oh yes, and a way to track 'views' on posts would be nice, if only so that one might know that people have perused thier works/ideas/suggestions. Now I sleep. -Haruna Al Khalid.Last Edited: Oct 16, 2008, 10:15 pm |

You can find the IRC rooms we've set up using one of the two web-based chats at www.darkmyst.org; it's fairly simple to add the chat applet to a webpage, so maybe Arkham will toss it up on here somewhere. #muelsfell_conference on darkmyst is intended as a general meeting room for members of all clans, as a reminder. |

There is also a page add-on I have seen called chatango or something like that. I don't know how well it would work on here considering how quickly we link through pages while playing. But it is a thought. Maybe in a separate tab/window? |

i was wondering if, well i'll give an example cause i have issues explaining it; form A with threads 1 - 5, the threads are all unread, and the icon is white on all of them, as is the form form B with threads 1 - 4 unread, and 5 read. this makes thread 1 - 4 white(unread) and 5 brown(read), but this also makes form B brown(read) i was wondering if the form could maintain it's non-read status until each thread within it is read. i ask because i may read one or two threads, and that makes the form look read, but in fact i missed a bunch of threads, and it takes a while to remember, either if someone posts a new thread, making the form unread again, or if i click it on accident. thanks, mike |
