Would that there was a way to improve a golem's HP to a part, aside from the passive change with armour, or the whole-sale swapping of parts with higher-level versions. The possibility of a reinforcement, using another material would add a bit to that respect. The reinforcement could use up a slot(with the possibility of higher level reinforcements), and add health, maybe 1/2 of a level x part of it's type, as well as a possibily a slight armour boost, say 1/2 of what a golem part made of that material would have. ex: Flesh 2*im/1*sl/1*pe/1*fi/1 co/2*so Bone 1*im/1 sl/2*pe/1*fi/2*co/1 so Wood 1 im/1*sl/1 pe/0 fi/3*co/3*so Clay 3*im/2*sl/1 pe/1*fi/2*co/1 so Stone 3*im/2*sl/3*pe/3*fi/2*co/1*so Iron 3 im/3 sl/3 pe/3 fi/3 co/3 so Admant 5 im/7*sl/5 pe/4*fi/4*co/4*so Glass 0 im/0 sl/0 pe/0 fi/0 co/0 so Copper 2*im/2*sl/2*pe/13*fi/0 co/0 so Bronze 2*im/2*sl/2*pe/0 fi/13*co/0 so Brass 2*im/2*sl/2*pe/0 fi/0 co/13*so *Rounded up, -1 if rounding down. It could also just give the boost based on a percentage, or based on a fixed stat line. The reinforcement would require using it's resource to heal the golem, in addition to it's own, say a 1/2 and 1/2 split? Or maybe a ratio based on the health give by the reinforcement compared to the 'natural' health? Mayhaps the reinforcement could also affect other traits as well, say a glass one, could give a damage/efficiency boost? Could make certain types more appealing. Also, the reinforcement could be permanent, and it would definately be limited to one per part. Also with that, could there be a posibility of variant/dual material golems? Perchance a Baked Clay golem, which loses it's regen and a chunk of it's resists and gains a huge boost to it's carrying capacity and would require copper to build/repair, or a Reinforced flesh golem that has a thick bony shell, lowering the speed, but improving the resists and health. Or an Ironwood Golem, gaining all of the wood golem's perks and iron resistances, but a weakness to fire and a hefty iron charge. One could also have a Leaded Glass golem, with more health but even more grotesque repair costs... How to go about the dual material golems... Requiring the research in both fields is a start, as well there possibly be a way to convert a golem/part of one type to another, it would take more materials in the long run, but be faster/easier to do? -Haruna Al Khalid edited for idea refinement.Last Edited: Oct 16, 2008, 7:44 pm |

Also a random thought, for those with premium accounts, could there possibly be another set of 'Repair All' Buttons for those parts not of the material of the main chest, or just a slector for the material type... Repairing each Iron limb gets a wee bit tedious when you get hit all over by the mean monsters... Also a thought, a process in which we could upgrade a specific part, say a level 1 Flesh Head, into a higher level part, say to a level 2 or 3. Not unlike the EXP-Size upgrade option that was inplace earlier, One could remove a part from a golem and upgrade it to a higher level part, doing such would take less time and materials than just building a part from scratch, but still require more materials/time in the long run... Thus there could be a use for old limbs, aside from tossing into the refuse pile.Last Edited: Oct 18, 2008, 7:30 am |

Or we could combine the level body parts idea with the level size idea and have bobble-headed golems! Though speaking of equipment slots, what I really want is to be able to equip a leg to an arm slot. Actually a leg to both armslots, and make a golem mount! But I realize that a four-legged golem with an iron flametongue/mask of screaming is pretty much a walking tank, give or take the armor slots. And some people are going to argue having four legs should make a golem twice as fast. Probably the same people who thought that dual-wielding a sword in each hand would make it do double damage. But I swear if the next poster mentions a four-armed gorilla golem with brass-knuckles and an absurd number of shoulder cannons, I had nothing to do with it! All I mentioned was that I planned to name an iron golem "Mecha Godzilla" as soon as somebody figured out how to make a golem with a tail. |
