Okay, this isn't just one or two monsters. I've tried a number of different level 1 and 2 monsters around, and for the past week or so not ONE gives me ANY treasure when I defeat it. What's up with that?

Check that your golem's capacity hasn't dropped to zero. If it has, the golem will be unable to carry back any treasure.

I ran into this problem too, and after a bit of experimenting, I have my fleshie armored with 44 pounds of carrying capacity left. That seems to get all the level 1 monsters' treasures, and it might even be able to carry a bit more, if I wanted to mess with it further....
