In the beginning there was the Magisterius Clan, and the Clan was supreme.

Six magi banded together in pursuit of higher learning; the six, whose names are here recorded, stuck together through adversity to make the clan what it is today. The oldest among their number was Brother Knowledge, who left behind the library he was given charge of at a local monastery (incidentally, the same in which Saint Coyne was later raised) in favor of spreading knowledge to the laity. The next was brave Sir Mortenson, a knight who gave up the sword in favor of the mightier pen. The only woman among them as an equal, Alexandra Erin was a masterful bard(ess) who brought life and spirit into the clan and made it flourish. William Stanton, an expert golemancer with a brilliantly analytical mind, contributed much of the writings in the clan library. A bit of an unknown, Lightfoot Princeton provided much of the necessary funding for the original incarnation of the clan, the source of which was never truly explained. Finally, there was Maurice Johnson, whose prowess with diplomacy and connections to other important nobles smoothed the way for the budding clan.

Merely reading and writing were not enough, they insisted; the developing skills of Golemancy and the guilds that had sprung up to pass on their craft through word of mouth were primitive, insignificant. The six founding scholars reasoned that they would need to be more than just warlords over their respective (tiny) domains, more than simple parents to their handful of children, more than Golemancers - they would be historians and, above all, teachers. All were welcome; by consolidating their information into bound books and studying the various properties of materials scientifically, rather than superstitiously, they would build a new future for future Magi.

However, they were not left in peace for very long.

From the beginning there were those who thought not of research or the betterment of the Craft; instead, they wanted only what they could take for themselves. They saw the fledgling guilds of the era as giant piles of resources ripe for the picking- and the Magisterius Guild was located in a prime position for raiding. Thus, unlike the Unseen University, TOMU clan (The Order of the Magisterius University) was unable to cloister behind thick walls and natural hazards, becoming recluse scholars; even after the founding of the official university, they retained a large depot full of golems in the event of war and for clan defense. Student dormitories were protected by beefy clay guards, and the depot was second in size only to the vast library of tomes that they had collected over the years.

Chancellor Sterling was responsible for officially coordinating the move from a mere guild and clan to an official University some 70 years after the founding of the original clan, legally able to accept and teach students rather than apprentices like most other guilds. However, his death under mysterious circumstances ten years later led to the second, and most famous, head of the school: Chancellor Kaelas. Kaelas was an immigrant from a foreign - some would say, VERY foreign - land, and a bit of an unknown factor, having only arrived five years after the founding of the school; however, in his time teaching he became very well liked by the late Chancellor and the rest of the teaching staff, and most regard him as a fair and just leader. Under his guidance, the University has grown from a pal imitation of Unseen University to a thriving community in its own right, and a world power as a Clan in addition to a beacon of knowledge.

A very brief time line:

1565- The six founders meet in order to make something that could help prevent a Second Cataclysm. Several short-lived projects follow.

1583- The Magisterius Society is formed.

1591- Raids and attacks from bandits and other local groups cause the Magisterius Society to apply for a Clan charter in order to form a common pool of golems to defend themselves.

1593- The charter is finally granted and the Magisterius Clan is founded. The Great Hall is finished in a single year; the Depot follows soon after.

1595- The great Library at Magisterius Clan is completed. The first of its kind, this Library contains texts of all nations and faiths.

1657- The Clan officially accepts its first true student and Magisterius University is born.

1663- It is decided that the Clan and University require a single leader. This office, that of Chancellor, is given to Magus Sterling, a descendant of Maurice Johnson.

1668- Kaelas joins the staff at Magisterius.

1669- Saul Kuronue and his new bride, Lily Genovia, join the University staff

1670- Yamiko Kuronue is born.

1673- Chancellor Sterling passes on and Kaelas is given the office of Chancellor.

1684- The Agoroshian Magus Cabal collapses, new golem laws are passed.

1685- The Kuronues die in a lab accident. Yamiko is placed under the wardship of the University.

1686- Yamiko Kuronue enrolls in the University at the age of 16, with the Chancellor as her Sponsor.

1989- Yamiko Kuronue graduates with honors. She accepts a position of independent researcher at the University while continuing her studies.

1693- Yamiko Kuronue is engaged to Father Coyone. Engement broken later that year.

NOTE: Time line not yet complete, more to come.
