/bitch mode on.

So, in order to not be an absolute priss and leave no golem out, I left my Clay in defense of by workshop. It's the best I've got, I can't raise the cash to go and buy an arbitrary Iron golem. I have ZERO interest in PVP, and politely ask people to stop who are testing out new golems etc. I do 6 "deeds" to limit attacks, and then I do some jobs while I drive to work.

I come back to several combat reports - the last of which is
Glass Golem did 82 dmg while her Clay Golem did 0 dmg.

The defender lost its ruby eyes and iron scales.

You earned -6 xp and Tzadkiel earned 10 xp.

Your golem will be back at your workshop in 2 min 15 sec.
Looted: Your golem has raided 90 rods of iron, 90 balls of stone, 90 urns of clay, 90 cords of wood, 90 pieces of bone and 90 cages of flesh from Tzadkiel's workshop.

What kind of spite is this. Just showing off your glass golem? I don't WANT the 10 frelling XP.

Nageya made off with less than 50gp of resources he doesn't need and negative experience. The only motivations I can see are spite and an arbitrary desire to be more "evil".

You earned -18 xp and laidan earned 10 xp.

Your golem will be back at your workshop in 45 sec.Gas Golem did 249 dmg while his Bone Golem did 0 dmg.

i'm fairly proud of ONLY taking that much damage. I'm pissy about the Ruby eyes though.

When pieces fall off, what happens to them? Do they just poof? I think it would be cool if you won the fight, then the pieces that fell off both golems would go into your storage, albeit with 1/x hp. Not all parts, just in instances when, say, a pelvis gets destroyed and there are 2 perfectly good legs laying on the ground. Arms would leave hands, heads would leave eyes, etc.

They go *poof*
That said, I have found items in salvage before. Just never found anything of my own.

You were probably targeted specifically for the eyes, actually. ^^

yeah, I wouldn't put high level items on your low level golems, or people are going to bash them just to salvage the items.

I had the iron golem that too 496pts of damage vs the opponent taking 35. Glass golems are a huge cheat right now. at least now the attacker is losing XP for using them too.

I considered that.

Now, all things considered - what are "reasonable" combos for golems. A Clay Golem is supposedly level 4 - what are level 4 "parts"?. Light Iron Plate or just Iron Scales. Emerald eyes or Crystal.

I had a flesh golem with iron legs because I thought it was funny. Didn't make him a target, just was.

How long should someone keep using a clay tablet before it's pathetic and they should upgrade? I'm not suggesting putting ground effects and a 1000 watt subwoofer in a CRX here, just trying to extend the life of a lower chassis golem before upgrading the library and researching. (*very* expensive as we all know)

Salvaging is a premium only deal correct? Part of the dismantle/salvage thing?

When I said 'Salvage" perhaps I misspoke - I meant "Scavenge" which seems to be a happy accident, not a premium benefit.

Scavenge is something everyone can do.

If you attack some one and they lose a part or item, if you go to THAT location on the "Local Area" map you will see below the map a "parts to scavenge" area.

I logged in to this one day.. this was not a happy day for me.

"Glass Golem did 136 dmg while his Bone Golem did 10 dmg.

The defender lost its iron studs.

You earned 9 xp and Rakash earned 1 xp."

I am still trying to figure out why I got a total of 1 xp for fending off a glass golem. and he gets 9 for beating my bone into the ground.. shouldn\'t it be the other way around??? I mean heck.. I lost a piece, and some studs, he gets a little nick.. and 9xp..

that must have been before glass golems were "fixed"

they used to be level 0, but now they are level 8, so that will no longer be the case (them getting lots of xp)

I think I may have a spare pair of emerald eyes lying in my storage bin. If so you're welcome to them. Not as nice as ruby I know, but they're better than nothin.
