the only issue I have with ranged is how well will they work for people who aren't premium members and don't have accsess to the hang back mode, however we don't have to pick a secondary right at the start and I believe all clans are able to make a basic bow so we could make a few bows and test how they preform with a golem set to default before committing to a ranged secondary |

Yeah that was my problem with having a ranged secondary, although if ranged doesn't work well with a normal stance then we could always trade our golems to a premium member of the clan and get them to change it to hang back. |

im fairly certain that a golem in a normal stance with a ranged weapon will not move to engage the attacker, but once the attacker reaches him will pull out any melee weapons and use those at close range. The problem I have with melee weapons is that it seems like every other clan is pathing that. But as someone else said, we can make one of the basic bows and see how it works out, then if it doesn't work we can go melee secondary. |

If the golem stays put until the other reaches it then I'm all for a ranged secondary. If they don't then maybe we should consider a defensive secondary defense would give us better lighter armor that since it's a clan item can't be stolen thus free of risk we could leave out fully armored golems |

After some consideration, I think I'll join NWO, as well. All this effort to stay neutral hasn't been working; I keep ending up evil... so why fight it? Evil FTW! |

I know NWO is all set to become a primary spell specialisation but maybe we should wait until we know how spells work before signing up for it. I do reckon access to the top quality spells would be awesome but there may be some sort of drawback to the spell system in general, maybe to do with spell slots as I don't know how that will end up working. And that's my random postulations about something which will probably be fine anyway... I think I need some of that Evil coffee. |

Well, it has been indicated that clan spells aren't learned individually, but cast from the clan. That would seem to indicate that your own spell slots have nothing to do with it. |

and even if spellslots DID have something to do with it, I'm almost certain (at least with the individual spell system, not clans) that each golem has its own spellslots and you could cast 3 spells on one golem, 3 different spells on a different golem ect. |
