I put together the calendar once.

Each month has a first-fourth:
St Belin's Day
Hymnsday
Erisday
Midsweek
Irensday
Fiensday
Khurday

Then there are thirteen months
Snowell's Dawn (Early Winter)
Andulaz (Mid Winter)
Laria (Late Winter)
Dosensel (Early Spring)
Ceville (Mid Spring)
Maenslull (Late Spring)
Jinnmal (Early summer)
Bride's Gloom (Mid summer)
Stoch (Late Summer)
Satin Rest (Summer's Breach)
Ollensfaire (Early Fall)
Trotokia (Mid Fall)
Arnilla (Late Fall)

Then, each day is 4 hours, making the whole year take two months.

So, the AMC collapsed on March 14th '07 (around midnight?)

Meanwhile this RP forum seems to go dead every couple of days unless I spam it.

I'm putting together some "regular" events, most of which will pass by without comment or notice. Holidays, poker nights, things like that.

Still, it will give us some way to record the passing of time, if not pass the time so feel free to add your ideas. It is currently the first week of Laria. Depending on the length of the month, it should be springtime in a few days. It will be nice to see flowers in Dimitria again, and the farmers of kern will soon begin planting their fields...

Ah, I have been waiting for the warmer weather, so much nicer when taking the bone golem out for its walks.

Indeed, for my bronze limbs be absolutely frigid in this cold, and fixing frostbite on a flesh golem is not fun, at all...

Frankly, I'm looking forward to watching the mating frenzies of the White-haired Serpents. Always an interesting spectacle. Provided some elementary precautions are taken of course.

Winter is they grayest time of year in Dimitria. Long marches in snow mean wet boots and frostbite. Ordinary colds sweep through crowded barracks like plague, and metal weapons conduct a lack of heat just like a branding iron gives off the feeling of fire.

With the exception of a few bored souls on guard duty, no ones playing soldier here. No city guard parading through the streets, no scouts camping in woods, nothing to take pride in.

Now with the approach of spring there's a grim stirring. You see icy roads roads and snowed in houses make travel difficult during winter. The less people visiting far off towns means less news from across the countryside, and there is nothing that makes a military mind more nervous than a communications breakdown.

It might seem paranoid, but let me ask you this: what happens to the goblin bandits, etc., that the Dimitrian guard supposedly patrols againt, during winter. They don't have big warm houses like we do, or we would have found them. They dress in rags and metal armor, and fires are easier to find than shelters. They're cold, hungry, and heavily armed.

And the towns they attack have little chance of getting reinforcements, if they could even get word out. Forget carrying off his gold and jewels, in the dead of winter they'll kill a man in his sleep just to lie in his still warm bed. The melting snow often reveals things that have lain buried most of the winter.

It is almost time for the "spring cleaning" missions for the dimitrian guard. Its not a mission given out to volunteers, but this year they're concerned: are the bandits really so desperate that they'd hide out in the otherwise abandoned workshops of the magus? Those looting abandoned workshops for resources are advised to check if they are the only raiders in the building...

(I put this one here rather than in the newspaper in case there are any complaints. Obviously you can see why I can't put the much happier accounts of winter festivals in the same post :P)

concerning the goblin threat, i thought to make it easier on the guard if a few magi from each location in muelsfell went around in a small group rousting the goblins from the surrounding areas and workshops.
if we worked in groups then there would be less chance of any fatalities, and if you could manage it at least put two high level golem magus's in the group to try and protect the lower level magi.
this i think would teach the aprentices something and also ensure the lower level magi learn as well.
plus i think it is our [or at least my] duty as citizens of muelsfell to help the fellow man and woman.
was thinking of asking Laidan if he would be willing to join my group to roust some?
send me a message if anyone's interested.

Yes, it is probably time to put my golem to a slightly more noble use than knocking on other mages walls for a while. I will assist in this endeavor.

sounds great.
wonder who else would be interested? OOC
walks over to wardrobe in workshop bedroom opens the doors and produces a long white robe with a tall golden hood.
pulling it over his head he looks over at the mirror on the wall smiles, picks up his adamantine staff with a brass tip and wondars out the door to find Laidan.

"Hmm... a job posting? Maybe I should give my neighbors a bit of a break," Sconibulus muses, "Orchid, Lily, Attend! Trade in for Crossbows, we've got goblins. Tower, you're on point, you know what to do." The four of them strike out on a circuit through Rilsdjan, Fellin, Mottonsborough, and Shuul.

"I wouldn't dream of rousting you for some mere pests so far from home, if you're really thirsting for goblin blood I'm sure there are places a bit closer to home that could use your assistance... That isn't to say I'm turning you down, I suppose I could use some company it just... strikes me as incredibly inefficient."
