So, I'm being raided by the "gryf" twins now, and really, the shabbiness of PVP is showing its true colors here.

Things I've noticed -

Glass golems are unbearable, excreably overpowered. The number of attacks they generate is beyond ridiculous. This has been mentioned in the forums, and while their level was tweaked, I still feel that they are broken, as do many others, apparently.

Walls seem to give very little advantage - his glass golem was hitting far more frequently than it should given how much of a defense bonus the wall is supposed to give, and conversely my Iron golem was not hitting at all.

Grief play is their general motivation, and is very supported by the system. It really is a waste of their motivation to take my resources, but the speed with which that can happen is ridiculous. Even if I had done a couple of the wasteful anti-PVP missions, they would still have had more than enough attacks to do their little dirty work.

Anyway, I realize the game is in beta, but I've noticed that the PVP system encourages this sort of griefing behavior - it's pretty easy to raid someone with one over-powered golem, then push down their resources with whatever you wat.

My question is, is this the desired direction of the game? There are many people here (given what you read in the clan forums) who don't seem to like a PVP heavy game. I do like PVP, but I don't like it when it's ridiculously unbalanced.

I would suggest instead that we look for a PVP model that is interesting and rewarding, has real consequences, but does not devolve to the 'I wait till they are AFK then nom nom nom nom' silliness that currently exists.

I've always thought it would be nice if your golem could run away when overwhelmed. Bony should really know better than to fight glass golems. Just let it in the workshop, it can't lift anything anyway. XP

Anyway, there are things you can do to avoid being mugged by glass golems, most notably don't carry any expensive jewelry, and don't upset anybody with a glass golem. (Also, having a glass golem can help)

I've already pmed him this, but...

It has nothing to do with griefing, or picking on you. I wanted your eyes and the negative alignment your goodness provided.

Not to mention I raided what, maybe 4K of each resource? Heck, I'll give you that.

I've had golems destroyed, heck, I've been attacked by a group of FOUR people at once, and I've had long drawn out battles with people. That's what this game is about.

You'll have the option of joining a Defensive guild later if you don't wish to participate in PvP.

Is it just me, or do golems seem to attack less against glass golems?

I know they're agile and slower golems will hit them less often, but I mean my attempted attacks went down to a crazy low amount. Like the first round I think i attacked 3 times. Wtf.

Pardon me for misinterpretting the clay golem that raided several times after my golem was down for the count...

Regardless, my post was not about you specifically (though your name does come up an awful lot in the forums with respect to PvP craziness, so I thought it worth mentioning) it had more to do with the unbalanced nature of PvP.

As I said, I don't DISLIKE PvP, I just think this game's model, for lack of a better word, sucks.

PvP is the best way to get exp, which is why I'm currently engaged in it now.

But honestly, if not for that, I would not do PvP in this game, though I'm a huge PvP player in games like WOW
