Have there been any tweaks to the combat system lately? I logged on this morning and as an experiment strapped as much armour as possible onto my level 2 bone golem and attacked a few players because a few threads have been suggesting to only lightly armour golems to take advantage of speed.
Anyway, I find that for some reason I am now dealing out massive damage to other golems, 252 damage to a bone 3 and 197 damage to a bone 1 to name a few, and they both did under 20 damage to me.
Any thoughts?

I don't think armor impacts your hitting ability.

Right now there are some balance issues with bone golems, I believe. The step up from flesh to bone is HUGE, and if you look at the charts, bone does almost as much damage as stone.

But wait, bone golems also get more swings than stone or iron, so really, I think the damage output on a bone golem is better than any of the other primary resource golems, especialy when you consider that most golems, and most armor, does not have as good puncture and slice resistance.

Now, the 'down' side of a bone golem is that it has poor resistances - strap on some armor (and the top level armor more than compensates for being a few points low) and now all of sudden you have a golem that has a relatively low motivation cost, high damage output, and good damage resistance.

Its downside is low hitpoints and strength - but, if you're attacking and can repair between fights, that's not much of a down side. And you can always just use iron parts for almost all other areas, so you don't need top armor expect on perhaps the 'key' areas that get struck a lot - chest, head, abdomen.

Right now, probably the best attack golem, other than glass, is a bone 1 golem, with high level iron parts for everything except the chest. Strap good armor onto the head, chest, abdomen, pelvis. Put your best power source on the abdomen, which can now carry several more slots than before. Rock and roll. Copper/Bronze/Brass also might be better, given its chart stats, but I haven't played with those at all.

Yeah I know I always prefer to attack with my bone golems. The reason I was wondering if there had been combat changes though was because I've attacked plenty of times with the same golem and normally end up doing much less than what I've been doing today. It's usually 40 or 50 against a bone 1 golem and they're giving as good as they get. Then suddenly I strap on armour and I'm shredding golems left and right. Thought it was weird is all.
