I've let myself get carried away a bit. There are 49 spells in various states of completion (not counting all the Summon spells). This is frankly too many for me to monitor once the system goes live, and finishing all of them is only going to slow the release of the base system itself -- nevermind that a couple of the concepts were a little too powerful in practice. My plan is now to take this week for testing, tweakage, and then release the spell system on December 5th, 2008. There will be five(5) non-clan spells and five(5) clan spells released with the system. Additional spells will be added after the system is confirmed as stable and predominately bug free, through the rest of December. Not coincidently, the game will be down for maintenaince on Friday, December 5th, 2008. I'll put up an ingame alert before then. As a teaser, the magic system will have the following "Schools" of magic: Enhancement, Elemental-Ice, Elemental-Fire, Elemental-Sonic, Manipulation, Magogenesis, Druidic, Necromancy, and Summoning. I'll explain what each of those mean later on; schools are mostly flavour and are something you can safely ignore if you don't want to worry with them. Kep |
