I guess the person I am fighting has been rebuilding their baricade because I know I have hit it for more than 90 points and it still hasn't fallen.

Actually, they might not be. Ever once and a while, the Magic Wall effect takes place. This is when the current HP of a wall level is reset at the start of battle. I've never been able to figure out when or how this happens but it has at least a dozen times to me (for and against).

What is the magic wall exactly, because this is the first I heard of it? I never usually pay attention to the finer details in the game(;

It's a glitch. Just a bug. Something will trigger it and the wall will get repaired at the beginning of the battle.
