Golems will now choose to use any equipped weapons over their fists. This change only affects a golem's choice when deciding which melee weapon it uses (as fists count as a melee weapon). If it's equipped with a ranged weapon and fists, then it will not necessarily favour backing up to use the ranged weapon over fists. If a golem loses all non-fist weapons, it should default back to fists. Let me know if there are any bugs or problems. :) Kep |

Hooray Huzzah! I've had this dream a million times but never did I fathom it would become reality! Good stuff. |

So this makes me once again question the effectiveness of the spiked chain as a "ranged" weapon. Using it against an actual bow, I would expect my golem to still attack with it even when they back away, but it does not. Is this some sort of choice where the golem can choose to use it at range? Or a bug? Or some third option I haven't thought of. Has anyone else noticed this? |

To the best of my knowledge, melee weapons with reach are bugged. If your golem is equipped with one instead of getting the reach bonus it will instead get zero reach. Not even it's natural reach if it's a higher level golem. Maybe this has been fixed and I never noticed since I haven't used a chain or been pvping much recently, but this was the case last time I was using the chain and have seen no mention of it being fixed. Also, I'm not sure if this applies to all weapons, as in, if weapons without reach also reduce a golem's natural reach to zero. Further also: It'd be nifty if your golem automatically moved each round toward the optimal range for whatever it's weapon. If it had 16' reach it would move as close to exactly 16' away before attacking each round. Of course this would mean that a glass or flesh golem with a ranged weapon would be more or less invulnerable against any golems without a ranged weapon equipped.
