I've received gold from the red-banded wolf spider in Yul's Marsh. But it is VERY rare.

The level 4 monsters(bog mummy and yeti) also drop gold as I recall, but it's quite uncommon from them too in my experience. Haven't seen silver.

I killed the level 7 Ogre once in the Zaulfang and got 19 bars of gold on the kill.

Yep, the silver and gold drops are pretty rare. Of all my monster killing I've only accumulated 46 bars of silver and 440 bars of gold. Pretty much the big spider in Yul's marsh, the Yeti, and the Ogre are the only monsters i've seen so far that drop it.

The lvl.3 Banshee in Arbrook Forest dropped gold when I attacked it. Could just be a fluke, but worth checking out.

The bog mummy has it as a rare drop, but it is consistent to like every 5th or so kill. It drops Adamantine more than gold though :/

it's about even in the long run, a little skewing to gold over ada...

I have fought the mummy probably over 500 times (close to 1000?) and have gotten from him 1400 gold, and 1000 adamantine. So about 1.5 - 2 on average per attack. Or in other words, really really slow.

Yeti is the way to go. You get more resources with the higher level golem that you use. I have on occassion gotten 100+ gold with a lvl 2 Iron. Usually less but it is pretty consistant.

Being from Broukendale - the bog mummy is my meat of choice. I run with my clay because of the healing but he can't take the Ogre regularly. The iron can, but he is expensive to repair.

Yeah, it is crazy slow. The ogre dropped me 73 silver one of the three times I pounded him, which seemed good. Also the only silver I have ever received. (what power source needs that?)
