Greetings,

Has anyone found a use for gold or silver?
I am curious what these can be used for as I am collecting more and more of it.

Cheers

Gold is used for Ouroboros and Steam engines. Don't know of anything for silver yet.

*edit* There's also at least one clan item that uses gold.

They are used for certain clan specific items.

It is a shame we can't find a general use for them, it is probably pretty easy to build up a surplus.

If you click on "What are these?" in either of the boxes that shows your current amount of resources, it will give descriptions of each resource (primary and secondary). The page says that gold and silver are too precious and soft to use in golem creation, except for decoration purposes for the eclectic few. And supposedly gems are too hard to collect to create a golem, but personal and clan storage bins beg to differ.

At least one general Clan item uses silver.

And there are several potential specialized Clan items using gold.

But I don't know anyone who uses silver besides that.

Well...according to the description for glass, it seems that glass golems are correct as they are now. Players, on the other hand, would say that glass golems were right before they got nerfed by various things.

You've got a rifle and someone comes along and replaces it with a Nerf Gun, your weapon has just been nerfed.

Nerfed means someone, usually the person in charge, made whatever was nerfed a lot less cool and effective.

Any resources above your hidden room limit can be raided. The hidden room protects 500 of each resource per level, to a maximum of 5000.

But if you have over your hidden room limit by any, your entire supply of that secondary is able to be stolen. For example if you have a max'd hidden room, which protects a total of 5000, and you have 5005, someone can steal whatever the normal limit would be, not just the 5 one would expect.

Since my workshop is fully upgraded and all my research is done, I seem to care little about someone raiding my workshop for resources now. I will just attack back for the sake of it really.

You have to get lucky while looting monsters. Some have better chances of dropping it than others. But I wouldn't worry about it since silver and gold have rather limited uses. As far as I know you only need it for ouroboros, steam engine, and a handful of clan items.

And unfortunately I can't remember which monsters I have read in passing that drop silver.

The six-eyed lurker drops silver very very regularly. I occasionally dump it on the market when I get too much.

Spined troll regularly drops gold and silver. Level 8, just south of Broukendale. Exceedingly successful with a level 1/5 Clay for 10XP as well.

The Dire Unicorn at level 5 in Bossenwelle Valley drops both from time to time. Or the Clockwork Elephant (now level 12!!) does as well.
