i cant figer out how to get it not to do this can anyone help me?

Click on artificier under the workshop tab. then at the bottom, make a parchment strip for a power source. move your golem to the worktable, and install the parchment, which is the 1st power source you can make.

how do i install eyes?

Create them on the same page as the power source, and then install the same way, on the worktable.

Err... you should be able to make hazy glass eyes and cyclopean eyes. Make one, then when it is done, put your golem on the worktable, and click on the head. You should be able to install the eyes there.
