Darghelm, in the Foothills of Ulvania
The hardy people of Ulvania value family bonds and friends over all else, so Darghelm has developed an extensive network of taverns, cozy inns, and messaging systems. They are not a cowardly nor xenophobic people and so allow people from all over the continent to use their taverns and speakeasy establishments.

"I first learned of it several weeks before it happened, through my power of deduction, but before I answer anything useful, we'll clear up these false pretenses that this same deduction also exposed, won't we?" He sits back down, bringing the pitcher to the table and setting it down within easy reach of them both.

Jellikal frowns. "I don't see why you're being difficult, unless you're in on the conspiracy. I just want the truth. The official announcement only ran a brief statement that they declined comment - there's some hush money there, I'm sure. If they won't comment I'll have to find someone who will."

"I'm being difficult? You're the one who infiltrated my workshop with claims of being a reporter, tell me who you are, and why you want to know and I might well oblige. Should you refuse such basic information I'm afraid I'll have no choice but to end this tete-a-tete, which would be most unsatisfying for the both of us."

She raises an eyebrow. "Mr Arquolin, I've been nothing if not forthcoming with you. As I said when I first arrived, I am Jellikal Stanton - that's the daughter of Anthony Stanton Jr., current heir to the Stanton fortune - freshman at this university, and I'm here researching an article for the Tattler. No more, no less."

"Well, lets accept what you say, you want your first article to be some inane human interest piece? You'll be kept away from the real stuff with a sizable pole. I'd be doing you a favour if I clammed up in that case, have another, more personal and believable reason?"

Jellikal scowls. "There's nothing wrong with human interest pieces. And besides, an article about Father Coyne is an article about Father Coyne. He doesn't give interviews - and this smells like a major scandal. If I can expose his dirty laundry for the world to see..."

"I'm pretty sure this wouldn't qualify as a scandal, and I'm sure the rumour mill can do more damage than the truth would. Appealing to my distaste for the man, while slightly more reporterly, will still get you nowhere." He stands up, and crosses the room, pulling a plate of pasties out of a cabinet. "I'm sorry, the truth is really boring so I'm having fun tormenting you... I should probably be a little bit nicer to people, they're always telling me that... Snack?"

"If it's so boring, just tell it to me, I'll write it down, and we can have a good laugh about the entire thing over lunch." she says, sternly. "I rather think you're trying to hide something."

"Think what you like, the truth is that they suffered differences of position on certain social issues, too numerous to even recall, let alone tell you, and each proved intractable. Isn't that boring? Suppose it's unsurprising considering the apparent haste."

Jellikal purses her lips. If that's true, there'd have been no need for such a sudden dissolution.. but perhaps he didn't know what was going on. She'd report back soon. "Alright. I don't suppose you could get my team an interview with the lady herself? A few quotes would spice up the article nicely."

Sconi shrugs, "Perhaps, although I believe she's a little upset with me at the moment, although I can't imagine why, I didn't even blow up anything of hers this time. I suppose it couldn't hurt to ask though."

Jellikal nods, jotting down her address. "Feel free to contact me with the information. Thank you."
