In what might be a somewhat controversial move, I've added a way to opt out of PvP for Muelsfell.

I'd hoped to give the Defense Specialization clan options to avoid or downplay the impact of PvP. I was having a lot of problems balancing this. One of the main issues was making sure that Defense Specialization worked for both non-PvPers AND PvPers without favouring one over the other. Another issue was that it forced folks to join a Defense Specialization clan if they wanted to avoid PvP. My developmental solutions to work around these problems were becoming more and more complex and taking time away from working on finishing clans in general. Finally a friend suggested something much more simple and easier to manage and balance, and after tweaking the idea a bit, this was the final result.

You can now opt out of PvP in Muelsfell, but it has some limitations:

1) It requires redeeming 15 Premium Tickets for 30 days worth of No PvP time;

2) And you must NOT have attacked any magus within the past seven(7) days prior to going into No PvP mode.

During the No PvP period, you will not be able to attack other mages, nor will they be able to attack you.

If the No PvP time ever expires, you will enter a period of seven(7) days where you will be unable to attack other players but other players will be able to attack you. This is done to discourage players from abusing the No PvP period to stockpile for an advantage in PvP. Of course, you can redeem more tickets to get more No PvP time and not be subject to this "re-warming" period.

Fifteen(15) Premium Tickets shouldn't be very difficult to acquire in trades on the Rildesjan Market, even for those not interested in purchasing them from the Premium page. I encourage people who have extra tickets to use them in trades for other things you may want.

You do NOT have to be a Premium Member to get the No PvP option. You just need a minimum of 15 tickets, though you can redeem multiple sets of 15 for extended time.

This has no effect on monsters, trades, clans, etc; only on combat with other players. Players who have opted out of PvP will not appear in the ranks page, and will be clearly marked as such on the search pages. Players who opt-out of PvP can join clans with other players who have not opted out if they so choose.

Further, if you don't wish to use tickets for a personal opt-out of PvP, you can still join or create a Defense Specialization clan. This will not prevent PvP, but it will (obviously) give you a better defensive options.

Muelsfell was and is designed with the expectation that players will engage in PvP at least occasionally, so I think this is a fair exception to that.

I'll be granting 75 tickets to every active account when the game leaves Beta (instead of granting 15 days of Premium time), which you can redeem for Premium Membership time or No PvP time. :)

I have had a problem when i attack monsters with opting out of PVP, i have been getting no exp.

This says that i should be getting some, but i have tried this a few times thinking it was a one off but i still got nothing.

Has that been changed? im not sure if this is a bug or anything so i thought it would be better to post it here.

If your golem is more than 2 levels above the monster, it is just free loot with no risk. XP implies "risk" so ... build some armor and send him against something like the leech or bog mummy.
