Does your achievement's progress start from the announcement of it? An example of this: You May Have a Problem Play the slot machine 1000 times. There does not seem to be any progress in this but I know for sure I play it a few hundred times before the announcement. FYI, I am a Blacksmith Create 1000 pieces of armour in your workshop. Progress: 1 of 1000 I know for certain that I have created more than 1 piece of armour before announcement. DDLast Edited: Jan 10, 2009, 6:54 pm |

I forgot to mention that. Some progress has been tracked for around a month, mostly the combat stuff. A rare few have been tracked since the start of the game. Otherwise, yes, unfortunately the progress of most everything started with the release of achievements. Very sorry about that, but I didn't plan for achievements right from the start of the game so the tracking simply wasn't there (there ARE logs, but they're in text, which isn't simply to parse for achievement progress -- plus the oldest text logs get cleaned out periodicially). Gah. Let me just say I don't like achievements right off the bat. I appear to be rather behind everyone I know from the start because I've done things like A) bounced resources through the market to donate to a clan, so that doesn't count as donation, B) I've made eyes in the past month - in the past WEEK - but seem to have made none... not to mention, all the achievements seem ridiculously high. Hell, every game on xbox has a *few* curveballs they throw you, like "Assume proper party position" in Portal, but now I wake up today to find that, rather than being the moderatly useful clan member I've struggled to be, I'm actually rather useless and lazy and haven't done anything. Hooray. sorry for the rant, I just got up. |

I suspect Newspaper articles are easier to track than people making eyes. |

Sconi thinks maybe the auto-generated newspaper article when you make a senate proposal counts. |

Just got this on my achievements: You May Have a Problem Play the slot machine 1000 times Progress: 1001 out of 1000 I only list 2 achievements, though; this should have been my 3rd. Perhaps this only updates at a certain time? |

You May Have a Problem Play the slot machine 1000 times. Progress: 1030 of 1000 Yeah, I was curious about that one too. Perhaps there is a time when it updates? |

i really like the new achievments, its a tad dissapointing that they dont track back that far but oh well its not the end of the world i suppose. I guess ill just have to start fighting the giant again and renew my gambling addiction, so long gamblers anonymous. |

Some achievements are easy, if a tad tedious. Saw off 500 limbs? easy, but it takes 18*500 = 9000 motivation to actually DO. Use slots 1000 times is one of the easiest, but in theory you could lose 1000*1500 gold = 1.5 million gold.(if you get 3 skulls every single pull) 10 material golem is easy, just ask clan members for the things you can't make.(11 types of golem, so you can skip Adamantine if you want) Jack of All Trades is easy enough, just takes time to research and build a lvl 1 of every type :p The combat/killing ones can be done side by side. Old School Rock, Death Incarnate and World is my Zoo should be able to be(partially) done with the same Stone Golem. Big Game Hunter is where I draw O.O though. Is it even POSSIBLE to take out the Giant or Runic Bonewalker with 0 damage? |

With a big melee weapon it's possible to kill it within a few rounds, so eventually you just get lucky and it misses every attack. |

Flesh 1 that's just showing off :) Big game hunter was the easiest for me as I was already hunting the giant as my sole prey. I take him down about 30% of the time without taking damage. I think in theory you can increase this percentage but I'm going to have to do some test.Last Edited: Jan 14, 2009, 12:53 pm |

I take much less damage against the Giant than against Kaelas's Flesh 1, so I can vouch for it's toughness. :) It can also be done without using Clan items, in case you aren't in one or your Clan doesn't have offensive weapons/spells. Easiest way is using an exotic with reach and a elemental spell and a high level powersource. Although it's gonna cost more mot this way. And you still have to pull multiple attacks until the stars line up right. |

Just so folks don't go around mangling the walls of others for nothing, apparently the Donk award doesn't trigger for damage done to walls. |

To be fair, I got my flawless victory with Alpha by giving him a Bronze Cannon. He could kill a giant barehanded but not without taking damage as it takes at least a few rounds of mutal comabat. We've also had a lot of success with giving cannons to Level 1 Clay golems- they can haul back a rather shiney pile of addamantine and gems. And I can confirm Iaidan's findings about the Donk award- wall damage doesn't have any effect for this one. Which is shame, but all in all, a good thing. Or it would be too easy and no fun. |

My Kung Fu Golem(Homunculous), had a flawless victory on the giant in melee. Though he used a lantern and assualted him at night. |

I really like the achievements. The only ones I wonder about are the Senate related ones, because those afaik can only be made by sovereign magestrates. A lot of them are easy if you use the same farming golem. You can knock out 3 that way with just a little time. With a lot of time and a stone 1 golem, you can knock out 3 more. I really like how some are achievable by time, some by skill and some by a buttload of resources. Good levels of difficulty. Also, now I have something to do and farming isn't quite as painful. |

Most of them are achievable by leeching off someone else's success. That kind of disappointed me. Now I can't do it myself. |
