At long last, Heavy Iron Plates have arrived. Unmatched protection against the exotic metal golems, with double the defense of a Medium Plate against fire/cold/sonic-- 10 defense to each. 15 defense to each slashing/impact/piercing. Asking 12,000 coins per Plate, please send a message if you're interested. If you would like to supply your own 25,000 iron per Plate (yes, that's how much it takes), the price is lowered to 10,000 coins.Last Edited: May 7, 2008, 11:38 pm |

Yay! [applause] Would you mind terribly listing the physical stats of all the armor you've researched? I for one would like to see the weight and number of slots of each piece, to study various armor combinations on larger (multi-slot) golem parts. [soapbox] This is why we need more and larger Foundries, everyone! Iron makes the world go round! [/soapbox] |

Assuming 30# is correct, a size 5 golem fully bedecked in Heavy Iron Plate will need a carrying capacity of (30 * 10 * 5) = 1500#. Plus eyes and power. Dibs on Gauntlets of Strength! Thanks for the stats, Caduceus. I can get the lighter weights when I'm done working. [added] Straps 2# Studs 5# Bands 10# Scales 15#Last Edited: May 8, 2008, 2:18 am |

I've gotten a couple of messages asking me why they should invest so much for a piece of armor, when a Light iron plate is a good deal cheaper and a Medium iron plate protects almost as well against normal damage. If someone's coming to harvest your eyes or powersource, odds are they will arrive with an exotic golem dealing fire, ice, or sonic damage which bypasses all non-plate armor. It would take two Mediums or five Lights to match the protection of one Heavy. Two Mediums weigh 20 pounds more, take two slots to equip both (which you likely don't have to spare with top-of-the-line eyes and powersource), and a pair of them costs about the same as one Heavy. Not a hard decision in my book. Lose an arm or two, lose a leg, big deal-- but protect the stuff that costs real money. Protect your eyes and your powersource. A Heavy Iron Plate protects your investment. |

I'll have to take you up on that at a later date. Definately worth the cost to protect the investment. My priorities are library/workshop upgrades at the moment though. |
