If a part on my golem is destroyed in combat, do I lose any items that were on that part permanently?

By extension, if my golem's chest is destroyed and he is completely destroyed, do I lose everything on my golem?

If a part is lost, it gets 'dropped' on the ground. If you go to the place where you lost it via the 'Local Area' map screen, you can pick it up. Provided somebody else doesn't first, of course.

If the golem is destroyed completely, then all the items on it go with it.

If you are in a clan, then any clan items will automatically be returned to the clan armory when a part is destroyed. I don't know if the ghost limb bug is still in effect. It happens when a part that has both a normal item and a clan item equipped gets destroyed. If this still happens then nothing will drop, and the golem will still have the use of those items.

If the chest and main HP of a golem reach zero, then that golem is destroyed completely and all items along with it. I don't know that items drop from the chest ever. As far as I know the chest is never truly destroyed. If only the chest reaches zero hp, the golem shuts down and combat will end, but when you go to the golem page the chest will have 1 hp.

items can and will never drop off the chest. the phantom limb bug was fixed, although it might still be in effect for loss of limb by anvil only. i haven't tested that bit lately, but i thought kep had said it was fixed before i noticed it happening with anvil.

As far as I'm aware (in that I've heard no mention of it being fixed), items CAN and WILL drop off the chest if the chest is knocked to 0 by a blast with a demon bag that does not destroy the defender.

whoa, seriously? now that makes demon bags more viable. an excellent way to potentially steal steamengines, ouros, and heavy armors, in addition to much better chance of causing outright death.
