G'day, I know that we have a chance of salvaging weapons from other players (mainly foreblades) but why can we not salvage the weapons from monsters? A lot of monsters carry bows or clubs that are fairly basic not high-tech like those of the clans specialties. Is there a possibility of salvaging those? Also what is the chance of salvaging a foreblade? I destroyed one golem that had two of them but didn't get either. guessing they are lost. And last question why can we not salvage other items from destroyed or de-limbed golems? (ARmor, eyes, power sources?) Inquiring minds wish to know :) Cheers Tackt |

You can salvage items from destroyed enemy golems. It requires that you are on the local area map, looking at the area in which their workshop is located. There is a notice that pops up beneath the map area, listing all the items that have been dropped off golems in that area. Simply pick up what you want. |

But if you actually destroy the golem, vs just knocking off a location, everything on the golem is destroyed with it. |

also clan items will just return to the clan instead of falling on the ground, making forerunner blades the only weapon that is salvageble. |

Nope, not currently. If there was then there'd be hundreds of weapons lying around the map. One of the kobolds wields nunchaku, a level 5 melee specialty item, so making them freely available would be a bit unfair. |

starter with a bit of armor and decent eyes/power source, if you add in elemental buff spells and strength boosts you should be able to kill any monster with your starter. |

Yeah, you can kill just about everything with enough power/good armour, but sometimes it's kinda silly. I mean I CAN kill the bonewalker with a boosted/spell-powered/armoured flesh 1 for 10 XP, but it's just as easy to pound the level 6 cave bear for 10. Motivation cost/travel time is about the same for me, but damage incurred (and the attendant repairs) is a lot less. Although if I lived right next to it, I would still do it just for the 1 second return times. :) Luckily, the ceatures with weapons aren't nearly as difficult as golems with weapons, so if you hold your own against a golem, odds are you'll trash the creature. The only exception might be the ranged Kobald Archer, just because it's faster than some golems and pulls back, doesn't hurt to send a speedy golem (flesh, bone, wood) after it, no iron behemoths here. :) |
