It would be nice if you could add time to a job you're already working. This wouldn't be a cheat in any fashion, as it would be if you could end a job early. It would just be a convinience for those people who don't set their clock by their game character.

This would also be good when life tosses you the unexpected, letting you update when you're going to play without sacrificing income.

Are we talking letting you add more time to make 12 hours total? Or adding time above and beyond that? In which case, I think an upper limit would need to be established. Anything over three or four days should probably engage the vacation feature.

I know just being able to work 36 hours or so would be convienient. I know I would have used it when I went camping a couple of weekends ago with my boys. :)

I think he's talking about setting it to say 4 hours at 3pm, so it would finish up around 7pm; then getting invited/requested to go do something/stay late/whatever that would keep you from being able to get to a computer around 7pm and adding another 3hours at 5pm so it finishes up at 10pm instead. Keep the 12 hour limit and just let us add a bit more time, even if it's at a reduced pay for the extra time.

Ahh. So we are talking about keeping the 12 hour limit and just adding additional hours if the original request was under that. That works too.

Or even if you could add more hours up to 12 current total.

Example- Goes to work for 5 hours (0 worked). Two hours later, adds 9 hours to work load (2 worked, 3 to work). Next morning, logs on to get paid for 14 hours (2 + 12).

This way, you still have to log on ever 12 hours in order to be paid for off line time but you could reset the 12 hour limit even while working (but I would say that even a Magus Major needs to rest eventually so this would need a cap. Maybe 3 extensions or 24 hours max?).
Or even better, to limit overuse, have extending the work time use 1 motivation for the first extension, 3 for second, 9 for third, 27 for fourth, etc. (multiplying by 3). A quick "darn I have to _____ before I leave so I can't log on to Muelsfell, I need to add to my work time now so I don't waste off line time" is cheap to do but it starts getting very pricey to try using it as a vacation tool.
