So, here I am, killing the giant, and it TOTALLY obliterates my poor golem.

Now, yesterday, I had upwards of 90000 damage (towards my do 100,000 damage achevment) and now, I'm down to 6000 odd?

Something wrong here?

Also, there was nothing on the ground to scavenge. No plate Full plate, no ruby eyes, and no forerunner blade... *goes to pout now*

The damage numbers seem tied to individual golems, so it totals everything in your basement.

And if you lost golem totally, everything on the golem, to include the eyes and Blade, get lost as well. :( If I remember right, there is a message on the combat report that says something like: 'the (insert creature name here) prevents you from recovering any items.' Wording won't be exact as it's been a while since I totally lost one in combat against a creature tho.

Still, losing over 80000 towards the achevment is far too harsh...

Oh, no argument there. Over 80k in damage lost from your total is a pretty tough loss.
