I may have discovered a problem concerning this.

The first Char I made (this one) is fighting in marshlands against Mud Hounds.

I made a second Char (Gryficus) and he is fighting against Black Rats (I think)

I've noticed that my first chars golem has taken WAY more damage over time against the Mud Hounds than my second char against the Black Rats. This may have just been luck, as I haven't thoroughly tested it, but it is something to look into.

Off the top of my head, I'd say against the Mud Hounds I took roughly 6 damage per fight on average. Against the Black Rats, that is more like 3/fight, which is a huge difference in having to maintain your golem.

Is there a difference in level one creatures and the way they are coded? I would think they should be functionally identical, with different names. If they are not coded differently then maybe it's something to do with the location? Whatever it is, something appears to be wrong.

I'll continue testing and start writing down numbers for you.

Ok, got some numbers for you, I'll keep track of them throughout the week. The sample size is small today, as it's just one day of testing, but they support what I was seeing.

Both golems are the starting flesh golem

In 6 fights against Mud Hounds averages were:
I DID: 11.3 damage
Mud Hound DID: 3.3 damage

Actual Damage taken: 0 0 3 9 2 6

In 8 fights against Black Rats averages were:
I DID: 9.3 damage
Black Rat DID: 1.5 damage

Actual Damage taken: 2 0 0 4 0 0 3 3

That's more than double the damage taken from the Mud Hounds. Again, relatively small sample size, I'll keep track of numbers throughout the week, but it looks like there may be a problem

I *think* that the creatures are based on location. So just explore a little bit until you find some easier monsters. This is just my guess though.

They are based on location - the problem is you only have one starting location to fight in with one mob. So someone starting in the marsh fighting Mud Hounds is at a disadvantage to someone starting in the city fighting Black Rats.

The numbers are starting to even out a bit, but still a difference. It looks like it might be environmental because both damage taken and given in the Old Capital Ruins vs. Black Rats is less.

after 17 battles against Mud Hounds:

11.29 damage given
3.11 damage taken

after 23 battles against Black Rats:

8.91 damage given
2.26 damage taken

Have any idea what might be causing this discrepancy in damage taken? It has been MUCH easier keeping my golem up fighting the black rats than the Mud Hounds - a major advantage.

What about experience points and resources you loot? Are they also equal?

I haven't been keeping track of resources, but experience is always 3 if you defeat the mob or not. In any case, the small amount of resource benefit you may be getting from the Mud Hounds doesn't help you till much later down the line, so doesn't address the problem of keeping your golem repaired when you are level 1.
