It doesn't matter if you call it regeneration or releasing energy over time or saving energy for later. In the end, the effect is the same, that some amount of energy is usable in the later rounds of combat, and the total energy available throughout the combat is always the same for any given power source. Mixing words and phrases just leads to confusion. So, yeah, call it what you will. Energy sources have energy. It's my opinion that the spell is pretty overpowered because of how it affects the top tier golems. I suspect that 40% extra energy is crazy nice if you drop it on the heavier powersources. One might even say 40% more damage nice! |

The "top tier" golems can't use up a whole oroborous with their fists as it is. I'm not sure they can use the extra energy. |

Energy regeneration would indicate to me that the number of times you stall out should affect your overall attack rating and the numbers aren't supporting that. Incorrect, if we presume energy regeneration happens constantly and is proportion to the power source energy then our results are consistant with the idea that's happening. It's my opinion that the spell is pretty overpowered because of how it affects the top tier golems. I suspect that 40% extra energy is crazy nice if you drop it on the heavier powersources. One might even say 40% more damage nice! Research performed by the TOMU clan indicates that in ideal cases 40% damage improvement may be possible with certain golem types/levels. As far as judging over/underpowredness, one should consider comparison to strength boosting spells and Ele-spells. Strength boosting spells are better against armored opponants IF your min-damage is not high to begin with. Against unarmored opponants? Elemental attack spells will do more damage unless the golem's base damage was already huge. This makes Second Wind mostly limited to a niche of highly strength-boosted golems of certain materials against highly armored targets, and thus not really overpowered in my mind.Last Edited: Mar 6, 2009, 7:03 am |
