I would like to see a greater variety of GENERAL items available, which should be pretty easy to create without much testing or concerns for game balance (known obstacle for all new item introductions).

They don't need to be creative - dumb down some of the Weapons path & Ranged path selections - for instance: Oak Longbow. Two Handed Sword. Shield. So long as the Clan Path choices are decidedly better, I can't see anyone being too upset that a Spell Path clan would suddenly be able to build a wooden shield or a spear. (I can individually build plate armor, but a shield never occurred to me??).

Second, can we please use Secondary Path slots for general selections instead of Primary? (or use either, not exclusively primary)

Yeah. Maybe have them actually be all of the other clan's items, abiet at a 1/4 level penalty. So, a level 8 melee/spell clan would have level 8 melee weapons, level 4 spells, and level 2 everything else. Level 20 would have 20 melee, 10 spells, and 5 everything else. Whee! That'd throw some fun into the mix, per'aps.

If we do something like this, though, we might have to think about merging the primary/secondary item slots - have just a single pool to gain things from... It'd make things easier, for sure.

Maybe non-primary items take two slots, and when you now would get a secondary slot, you'd just gain an extra one?
