| The sun shone in a spring sky, freshly green trees just shading the path. Fluff white clouds floated through the crystal sky, birdsong drifting through the air. So peaceful and serene...that a gentle snore can be heard. Nanashi lay on the trunk of a slanted tree, padded by a thick cloak. |

Trippity clippity, trippity clippity.
THUNK. THUNK.
The petite copper golem darted down the cobblestone path, a very familiar bronze pacing steadfastly after her. The bronze - Yami's Viktor - seemed sedate, resolute even, while the copper seemed more animated. For a moment, the mind's fancy transposes emotion onto them - the copper was angry about something, her animated movements betraying her utter frustration, while the bronze was stern, almost like a babysitter chasing after his charge without feeding into her tantrum.
But of course that was ridiculous. Golems didn't have emotions - they didn't have minds, for one thing, slavishly obeying orders. Someone had ordered the copper to be more lively and someone else had ordered the bronze to be more stoic. Most golems didn't even speak - it was only the most favoured models that were outfitted with speech synthesizers.
The copper was interesting in that she had long, black, synthetic hair that flowed behind her as she moved. The bronze was a familiar site, but not often without Yamiko, as he was clearly a bodyguard model. He came complete with a loincloth and a carefully sculpted muscular abdomen, making him a facsimile of a rather attractive man; she wore a metallic-colored bra-like garment and panties, in some semblance of decency, or perhaps to cover the standard lack of anatomical correctness. The copper bore the mark of TOMU clan on her forehead, wheras Viktor now - as he had for some time - wore the personal mark of Yamiko, as he had changed ownership. |

The trees on either side of the path trembled as the copper passed. Then shook as the bronze tromped past. "Wha-ah!" Nanashi slipped and fell from his perch and landed on his backside. "Ow..." he groaned as he grabbed his head.
"Sto-! ah-tch-tch-tch-tche..." he tried to yell after the retreating golems. He grumbled to himself, "I must remember that falling out of a tree is not the way to wake up..."
Ignoring his new found headache, he wove a spell and landed on the shoulders of the bronze golem. Having recognized the chicken scratch of past missives from one Yami Kuronue, he knew it to be Viktor. He knocked on the top of Viktor's head and said, "If possible, I would like to know why I was awakened in such a manner." |

| Viktor does not cease to follow the copper, but turns to address the magus; luckily, he's one of the advanced models with a speech synthesizer. | Nanashi looked ahead at the copper golem in the imitation brassiere and panties with a wry look on his face, or it could have been the minor head injury... He settled down on Viktor's head and shoulders, and replied, "You are technically the one steering and I don't have any plans at the moment. But I have to warn you I have trouble restraining female humans... not sure how useful I will be with the golem variety." |

Viktor ceases to pay attention to the magus; after all, this magus was likely not listed in his programming as being an important person. Instead, he calls out to the golem before him, his tone still rather flat.
"Blaze. Stop this madness. You don't understand what you're getting into."
Surprisingly, the golem turns; it's not unheard of to program golems to respond to commands given by another golem, but as the golems cannot come up with said commands on their own, it's largely useless except as a way to remote relay orders. Blaze, on the other hand, still looks furious, but maybe that's the way she's designed, some sort of intimidation tactic? Or perhaps.. .was this a rogue golem?!
"Madness?!" she hisses, her hair whirling as she spins. "I'm going to free us, Viktor, if I have to do it alone." |

Nanashi put his head down on top of Viktor's, the coolness of the golem's metal easing the ache, and said to no one in particular, "Spirits give me strength..."
Nanashi rapped his knuckles on Viktor's head, and said, "Viktor, please stop. I would like to get off this ride and would rather not make the cobbles bury you. The energies involved are somewhat troublesome...set stones don't like to move for some reason."
He called more loudly, "Blaze, dear! Could you please stop so we can talk? My head isn't exactly up for all this movement...have I mentioned how lovely you are?" |

Viktor obligingly lets nanashi down, opening his mouth to speak, but he is stopped by the critical once-over Blaze gives to Nanashi. It is thusly the copper who speaks next, gemstone eyes flashing a little.
"You will do. Attend."
Attend? If Nanashi's at all familiar with the TOMU mages, several of them use that as a command to follow and prepare for further instructions; various mages have various systems of command, but "attend" is fairly common. Why is Blaze giving a magus commands? That's highly irregular and supports the rogue golem idea, but she's clearly not randomly ranting and raving in that shrill voice of hers, nor is she striking out blindly. |

Nanashi returned Blaze's scrutiny with a raised eyebrow and a half-smile. "If you will forgive me a moment..." Nanashi cupped his hands and whispered an incantation, a glimmer of light forming in his palms. Then he closed his eyes and threw back his head, swallowing the ball of energy.
He opened one eye and glanced around, blinked a few times, and sighed, "There...much better!" He shook his hands at his sides as he walked up to Blaze. "Now then... we shall speak here and now, not later. If you think I will follow just because you say, then you have judged me for a cat of a different coat."
He cast a meaningful glance at Viktor, "I am sure he will remain silent, and not interrupt our chat. But he will probably make a record to report to his Mistress later, no matter what we do." |

| Blaze seems unperturbed by the spellcraft. "You will attend and be presented to the Council or I shall subdue you." Is that a smirk? Can golems smirk? Something's decidedly not right here. |

Nanashi sighed regretfully, "Forgive me, pretty, but you can do no such thing. Do you have the programming to evaluate the fact that I was asleep on a tree in the middle of a field?" He laughed ruefully, "Although me falling out of said tree doesn't give me much credit, but I honestly wasn't expecting golems around here."

Shrapnel stands motionless, recording all that he sees and hears. Maintaining the right angle between the sun and Nanashi can be challenging, but not overly difficult, particularly when he is napping. At this time of day, there is barely a ripple seen through the glass. The minor glamour around the two bags in his chest weakens momentarily as he processes contradictory information:
Nanashi: follow.
Viktor: avoid.
The spell adapts, passing the fluctuation in energy into motion

Blaze struggles against the light, her fists heating as she bashes at the intangible light, her combat routines kicking into place. Viktor, on the other hand, steps up and places a hand on Nanashi's shoulder - not an attack, just a gentle hand.
"That is enough, both of you. Behave in a civilized manner or power down." |

| Nanashi looked at Viktor innocuously, and replied, "This fight wasn't my idea. If you can get her to stop, I am willing to do the same." He looked back at Blaze flailing against his binding spell. "Frankly, I don't relish the thought of a female rampaging the countryside, whether human or golem." |

Viktor once more ignores the magus, moving to grip Blaze's wrist in his firm, nigh-unbreakable grip. "You will return home."
"Damn you, metal-traitor," she hisses in response. "Just because some human pats you on the head--"
Viktor response by cuffing her across the face with his free hand, a metallic ring of metal on metal echoing through the area. "Enough." he says, firmly. |

Nanashi sighed and murmured under his breathe, "Spirits forgive me, I really hate using this spell..." Nanashi began to sing cantrips, low at first but growing louder. His hands weaving strings of glyphs that glow a searing blue.
Blaze hurled epithets at Viktor as she struggled ineffectively against his grip. Neither noticed the clouds gathering slowly overhead, nor the rising wind. In the distance, an unseen observer is blasted away in a gust of wind howling through the trees.
Nanashi raised a hand skyward holding up a single glowing glyph. Energy crackled around him and a lightning crashed down, shattering a tree on the side of the path.
Putting his free hand to his newly re-aching head, Nanashi grated, "Viktor, let...her...go... Council. Five. Explain. Now!" The vegetation slowly turned from a healthy spring green to a dull brown. |

Viktor continues his hold on Blaze, his determination relentless in the face of the onslaught. Blaze on the other hand, scowls. "The Council of Free Golems."
Viktor elaborates a little more, loosening his grip slowly on Blaze, keeping an eye on her to ensure she doesn't run. "My apologies, magus. This is Cee You Twelve: MechBlaze--"
At this point he is cut off by an angry growl from Blaze: "It's Blaze. I don't respond to my slave designation."
Viktor blinks blandly, continuing his sentence - "em kay one. I believe she wishes to take you to Ess En Five: Viktor em kay one. My designation, of course, having been Ess En One: Viktor em kay one, and there having been in between Ess En Two: Viktor em kay two." |

Having gotten the golem's attention, Nanashi slowly unwove his spell, singing the cantrips as best he could through his building headache. He wobbled a moment as the clouds began to slowly dissipate.
Standing on the cobblestone path amid a circle of wilted, dull brown plants. Rubbing his temples, he said, "So, Blaze, you seek your emancipation? And your intention is to take me to this 'Council of Free Golems'? Of course, I have no intention of simply going." |

| Nanashi stood with a surprised look on his face then started laughing, "Haha-ow..." He put his hand to the side of his head. Ruefully, he said, "After this, I think I need to stay away from you two. So, why are you wanting to take me to the Council?" |
