Something that definitely doesn't need immediate attention, but will need to be in place before the game goes live is a way to "Hide" players from being attacked, either by choice, in the event of a Vacation, or as accounts go inactive, say after 7 days.

This will prevent a basically free and unlimited resource for materials, as these people without golems could be continually raided by people without retribution.

should do it like utopia, 10 days inactive is delete,

you activate vacation mode, and after 24 hours of no attacks or new buildings, you enter protection for a minimum of 72 hours

I don't think you should delete an account after 10 days...that's a little harsh. But they should enter an inactive "hidden" mode after 5-10 days, probably 7.

Account deletions shouldn't happen for about a month or two.

we definately need to add a self delete option, because i for one know i made sever accounts during the first day of open beta to test some issues, but i couldnt delete them, so there are a few accounts with no upgrades...

The plan for inactive accounts is to flag them as inactive after ten days without a login. Inactive accounts will be safe from attacks and will vanish from the ranks and search pages.

An automatic reminder notice will be sent to an inactive account once it goes a full 30 days without a login (and likely with a week of free premium to entice folks to give the game a second try). Then deletion will occur probably at the 90 day mark.

I don't want to offer a self-deletion option. If an account has no workshop levels, etc, then it should naturally degrade to inactive status over time and eventually vanish.

I'd like to allow a "vacation" option, but that would need to be delayed by 24 hours or so to prevent folks from attacking someone and then going "on vacation" right away.

And yeah... I'll bump this up in priority. It does need to be done before clans or new monsters, but I'm going to try and get the homunculus repair tweaks and new golem part costs in order first. :D

The easy fix to that is to make a minimum for vacation status of like 3 days. That would dissuade people from using it as a tactic to keep people from retaliating.

A system for accounts going inactive is live.

Accounts that go for ten(10) days or more without a login will now become inactive. You will not be able to search out or attack an inactive account, though you will still be able to send them messages by name.

You will also be able to voluntarily turn your account inactive on the profile page. This takes between twenty(20) and twenty-four(24) hours to trigger (to prevent folks from attacking and then hiding in inactivity).

Inactive accounts will allow logins thereafter, though they will be limited to only reading reports, messages, and the forums. An inactive account will not be able to attack, upgrade buildings, or access golems until they voluntarily end the inactive period. This was done to allow folks on vacation to keep up with new upgrades/updates in the game and so that a person who voluntarily goes inactive can see if anyone attacked them during the 24 hour grace period.

Accounts that become inactive are notified via email.

An inactive account can be activated by clicking a button on http://www.muelsfell.com/inactive.php

Be aware that since today is the first time that the inactivity timer has triggered, there may be quite a few people who inexplicably vanish from your hit lists! :)

Don't worry. Once I get some long-needed refinements to combat, I'll start advertising again for more players.
