And they are hardly the only ones with the spiked chain, we at Hereti-Corp have had it for quite a while now, and it looks like Tench has some too. Heck, we didn't even use it when taking down Immaculate God #6666, as the armor soak on that thing (I think) made it more worthwhile to get more attacks using fists alone.
Anyone looked at the level 5 library weapons? The Reinforced Nunchuku seem tempting, but it is a tough call...research slots are so pricey...

As for the item secondary path, I believe we gained the other lantern at library level 3. But I am sure that we gained nothing at level 2. Honestly, I didn't pay close attention until I was looking at our level 4 offerings and noticed another lantern had snuck in.

edits: nope, confirmed it crept in at level 4. :)

What are the current maximal useful library levels for each path? Currently I'm spending some time arguing for library upgrades, while my clanmates are claiming we have sufficient, just because we can see all the items that have been explicitly mentioned for our path. If they are right, which they may be, I'll have to argue slightly less hard and change my tack to saving future expenditures, which would be a far less convincing argument.

When we upgraded to our level 5 library, I noted that we were rewarded with a the wonderful option of absolutely nothing new. But, by the time I mentioned that to someone in my clan, a shiny new nunchuku had appeared there.

So, even if there is nothing there at the moment for you to unlock, I'm pretty sure the fact that you have built it will cause Ark to move something over from testing for you.

That just happened to us it seems, hopefully he's got some items waiting in the wings to be rolled out. Otherwise we might be sad.

I always find something new each time I upgrade the library... XD

Thought I'm so waiting out for the next level... as I just got Iron to other transmutes, hopefully there will be something exotic next...

Anyone want to help me find out what it is? Join the State Alchemists and donate...

There are several items in testing that aren't live. Ranged Specialization clans will get arquebus and cannons, for example, but they're a bit overpowered at the moment.

Sorry for the wait. I'll try to get another round of items ready in the coming weeks.

@ Sconibulus, well cannons and arquebuses aren't quite the rocket launchers you were hoping for but they sound like they're going to be rather fun.

I've noticed something odd.

My clan has our Library up to level 7 now, but we still don't have access to the new items, like the Reinforced Nunchaku, Godlen Morningstar, or Iron Dwarven Hammer. I'm assuming that there should be some other item floating around that we should have access to, but we haven't seen a thing since the Clam-Hilted Claymore, and that was a couple levels ago.

Could the fact that Melee is only our secondary be causing this?

I believe that your secondary path progresses at a fraction (1/2 I think) that your primary path does. Not sure if the ratio is linear or not, but the progression is slower.

Yeah, secondary gets stuff slower, and might not even get some stuff ever as I recall hearing at some point. I don't think we've unlocked anything for our item secondary for the last two or three levels.

Your secondary choice gives you item choices at half the rate of a primary clan.

For example, a Primary Weapons clan might see item X at level 5. For a Secondary Weapons clan, you'd see item X at level 10.

Just checking Kep, but you mentioned arquebus and cannons. We've had lvl6 clan library for a month now and haven't noticed any new ranged weapons. Do you have an eta on those?

By the way, we don't mind if they're overpowered. :P

Count your blessings. MAGIER has been sitting on an empty library level for well over a month. Probably closer to 3. For the past few weeks we've even been sitting on two empty levels. I'm sure they'll be ready when they're ready.

And we here at NWO have been sitting on 6 empty levels for ages.

*Sigh*

Waiting, as always, on the spell system. When it comes out, we'll knock your socks off.

I've been focused on getting the spell system integrated instead of new items, to be honest. It's a tedious process, which I occasionally take a break from to hunt down a bug or tweak a page.

I've made a note to toss out a few of the reserved ranged clan items today.

[edit] New clan items are live:

Ranged Specialization Clan
Hand cannon - Lvl 6
Iron Cannonballs - Lvl 6
Bronze Hand Cannon - Lvl 7
Arquebus - Lvl 8
Iron Bullets - Lvl 8

Melee Specialization Clan
Brass Knuckles - Lvl 6
Bronze Dagger - Lvl 7
Adamantine Flanged Mace - Lvl 7
Flamespiral Scimitar - Lvl 8
Maulhammer - Lvl 9

Item Specialization Clan
Amethyst Eyes - Lvl 6

Other items to come for the other clan types, then back to spell work for the very patient Spell Specialization folks.

Are the amethyst eyes missing a description ... say "oh, and they provide nightvision" or something like that? ;)

From the prayer book of Father Kevin R. Coyne...

O LORD, in thy holy name we pray,
that you might bless us with a weapon that is smitey,
and has a low energy cost and high rate,
that we might glorify you and your holy name forever and ever amen.

FYI:

At the time of this writing, only Defense and Melee Specializations have items available at Library level 10. Range and Item Specialization stop at Library level 8.

Remember that a secondary specialization doubles that number, so if you are, for example, Item Secondary, your clan would have to raise the library to level 16 to get the level 8 item.

Only Alchemy Specialization currently has a full allotment of choices up to 20.

I'll be adding more items (and announcing them here) after I'm done with spells, so this is only temporary. Sorry for the inconvenience. Use this info to decide if your clan should focus on other buildings meanwhile.

hey ark,

how are you getting on with spells?... what level have you got spells for... our clan is concentrating purely on library at the moment... will we find that when things go live that there are only a few spells avalible initially?

It should also be noted that some of those library levels before ten - at least for Defense - are also empty at the moment. Still, there are secondaries at every *other* level. :)
