Right now, it's around 20 non-Clan spells and around 15 Clan spells, though most do not work fully yet (if at all).

Some spells may get moved from non-Clan to Clan and vice versa, some might get removed, and more are certainly going to be added.

I got very little done this week unfortunately due to an unexpected family-related problem. Sorry about that.

Any news on the slot swapping code? My clan made a weapon choosing mistake early on in its days and the weapon isn't being used at all, though it takes up a weapon slot.

I woudl like to think that at some time before we exit beta, each clan will get a certain allotment of "do overs". No one deserves to re-pick everything but mistakes do happen. Maybe something like "1 erase for every 4 levels of Clan Headquarters/Library/whatever"

After that, could be as simple as a feature to destroy a level of library - when you go low and lose a slot, you get to erase something you learned. Kinda like burning all the books on the subject. Given the price of a level of library, I can't see how this would ever get abused.

Given the price of a level of library, I can't see how it would ever get used. Especially with the already established clans. It's faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar cheaper to upgrade the HQ again than it is to rebuild a level of library.

But, if I misunderstood you, and you weren't suggesting that re-picking an item should cost a library level, then I fully agree.

I'm under the personal opinion (and am slowly formulating a convincing argument) that the clan items are problematically unbalanced, and at least in the case of the weapon specialization (as I'm not familiar enough with the others to speak for them) they need their stats tweaked so that higher level library items are actually better or more useful than lower level ones, rather than all the weapons being approximately equivalent with one or two being clearly better than the rest since they improve the most useful stats.

Of course it'll be awhile before I do anything like present this theoretical "convincing argument" because I'm lazy, apathetic, and realize that Ark's not going to give it much of a look anyway until he's done adding content and has the time to improve the existing content.

My point is that if any notable changes do occur to the the stats of clan items, be it melee or otherwise, I sure hope clans of that specialization get a few repicks after any rebalancing.

No, I really did say downgrading the library.

Yes, it's absurdly expensive. But there should be some kind of penalty to erase a technology; burning the books really does make sense. Upgrading the great hall is another way to go, but that takes two levels to get one new slot of secondary - and since (in theory) you can knock down someone's great hall via the senate, I didn't want to propose another route to that - it can lead to destroying a clan entirely.

Do I expect someone to do it? No, not really. The cure is worse than the disease.

CC, with us ranged clans that need to research our ammo too, our hall tends to be high enough that it is more expensive than our libray, I heartily approve of a slightly cheaper way out.

I guess you have a point. For us the library is so absurdly more expensive than the great hall it seems that it'd never be otherwise unless you only upgraded the hall or something. 'course we're all sorts of paranoid with our weapon picks and don't have that pesky ammunition to worry about.

I suppose my best shot at how repicks should go is you get them at something like 1 every 3-4 great hall levels.

Perhaps if we could re-pick in exchange for a hefty bribe to Arkham...

Amethyst Eyes have been tweaked. They remain lower weight and only use one slot, but now provide a higher accuracy boost to (hopefully) make them more worthwhile.

More clan items will be forthcoming this month. :)

Any news on new stuff in the works? We're about to be on our second library level without a new toy...or we'd happily just take an improved steam engine in the meanwhile :)

Aye, same with us! Are our new items going to be gem-themed, too?

Edit: A rapidfire care bear gattling gun. It shoots care bears at a fast pace. They only do like 1 impact damage, but they can be shot out quite fast! And if you give it to a golem with a lot of muscle, it would blow the enemy away!

Well, if we can't have a moat, then maybe the rainbow will work. :)

I will buy a frying pan. Someone for the love of whatever implement clan item trading. I will sell my soul for a frying pan, just for comedic value.

Naturally, I missed my self-imposed deadline of "before the end of the day" for the new defense items, but here they are now. :)

Defense Specialization
Emerald Wave Armour - Library 6
Amethyst Armour - Library 12
Dragonspine Shield - Library 13

Moats, hmm. That's actually a really interesting idea (workshop upgrade for defense clan that treats your workshop as in deep marsh?). Hrm, hrm.

[Edit] - Emerald Wave Armour level has been tweaked from 9 to 6.

Our Loru will be thrilled with a moat. She's been hoping for one since the last round of upgrades. :)

Maybe everyone can make a moat, but defense Clans can make 'things' to go in it? Mines, monsters, even just flotsam for lower levels.
