Well, they did get a motivation improvement recently. :P Though I do notice that apparently no alchemy clans have libraries high enough to transmute stone into gemstones. Luckily, it's very easy to add transmutation options to those clans. I'll consider adding a few more. Spells, on the other hand, are not so easy to add. I hadn't added more yet because there are some existing spell bugs I wanted to fix first, but spell clans will not be ignored. Kep |

Another round of new items: Melee Weapon Specialization Ruby Twinblade - Library Level 10 Ranged Weapon Specialization Triple Barrel Cannon - Library Level 8 Item Specialization Starlight Goggles - Library Level 6 Shining Light Gem - Library Level 10 Telescoping Goggles - Library Level 11 Dark Shadow Gem - Library Level 14 Next clan update will be either Alchemical or Spells, depending. Spell clans need an update more, but Alchemical clans are much easier to update for. KepLast Edited: Jul 3, 2009, 10:33 pm |

Clan weapon suggestions: Staff of the woods-Decent bludgeon and piercing damage, 10ft reach, Acts as if wielding golem is in forested terrain. Power sword-Heavy without being too slow, adds to a golems power supply. Improved steam engine..uh..mace...-like an ISE, but hands only and adds damage? Okay...maybe not that one. Net Trap- No damage, but reduces an opponents movement to 5 and has long range, without being a ranged spec. In short, I'd like to see some weapons that do more than straight damage. I like damage, and I'd like to see more of it (the spiked chain is still our most accurate and almost most damaging weapon, and we've had it since level 3!?!?). Heck maybe something like this already exists in our options, but we just don't know about it because we haven't lucked onto it. |

How about some sort of extra accuracy aid for melee? Looks like items and ranged both get one, share the love? |

Ranged doesn't get an accuracy aid, it just gets something that can negate one of their unique penalties (stupid trees). Although, it's quite heavy and requires head slots, so I don't think it gets used, at least not by us. |

So...anything on the list for Melee 14? I hear ranged hasn't gotten anything for 13 yet either, and we're crawling toward 14, it'd be nice to have something to look forward to besides the mask at 15 which we'll get to in a year or so. |

Some more Love for The Melee Clans, and Alchemy would definitively be cool. I'm Hoping for some more spells (maybe some spell upgrade), but I can shake dragons to death so I can't complain much XD! |

Alchemy and melee need the biggest boosts in my opinion. |

I'd agree melee and alchemy need the biggest boosts right now, but I have the feeling that for almost all clan types, the rewards of the high libraries become very few and far between. Not only did ranged not get anything at all for library 13, but really, most of the stuff at high level of most clan types seems little more useful than at the low levels. I mean... sure, ranged got repeaters at level 10 which are decent, but really it's not too different from the double dart tube at level 4, because the speed difference is minimal and the piercing damage difference rarely matters when the enemy has anything more than the very most minimal armor. Then things like the mortar cannon are do high damage, but really, it's not high enough to make up for it's terrible speed and weight, against anything high enough level to be worth the effort of using it. The main point is: Most of the high level items have a rather small useful niche. Now, I mostly comment on the pointlessness of the library upgrades in terms of ranged, but it's my understanding that the situation is essentially the same for melee, defense, alchemy, and maybe spell to an extent. There just isn't enough of an increase in reward for high library levels IMO, considering how the required resources become absolutely ridiculous approaching 14/15. (I just don't comment much on details for those clans because I don't have personal experience with that) I don't have experience in an item clan, but I feel item clans really get a lot more value at higher levels, because they just keep getting things like increasingly better eyes and powersources with few drawbacks and an extremely broad range of uses.Last Edited: Jan 8, 2010, 4:57 pm |
