Gem Golems are great now. I love them. They're right at a great power level. No more boosting is needed, nor nerfing. Perfect for a golem that costs a bunch of gems to repair. And our friend the infamous Bone Hunter. Slightly slower and less damaging, but equivilant number of attacks, lower ECL, and cheaper repair costs.

It's quietly come to my attention that Glass Golems are kind of worthless in comparison. Quite high ECL and almost 0 weight capacity for not much else over Bone/Gem. Maybe some slashing damage and fast speed, but that's it. I heard glassies were much more rigged, and were nerfed as a result... but in current state they've been simply nerfed into uselessness. The Gem Golems have sort of taken the glass's original place from what I've seen.

Because of this, I think a tweak or two to the Glass Golems is in order. My suggestion? Simply lower the ECL ro maybe Bone-Stone levels, and they will be a lot better. For something with 0 resists and almost no weight capacity to armor itself, it shouldn't cost as much as a bronze hit to smash something. Bronze can actually do things in a smash, whereas glass can hardly hold their own power supply unless boosted or spelled. Their melee damage is alright, that doesn't need to really be touched, and the weight capacity is sort of what defines a glass golem. Hm. Could also give it a gimmick of sorts, like bone's ignore desert or gem's ignore night.

Edit: Is it just me, or is it harder to get glass, anyway?

Edit2: Holy derp. I just saw an attack report of your glass Anri. That thing could destroy HK by sheer number of attacks. Combined with clan armor? Agh. I don't want to even send HK against it. I might have to rethink my statements. I forgot how frightening a fully boosted glass is, especially with clan armor.

I'll second this post. Pretty please with a cherry on top.

I was severely disappointed when the gems got up-tweaked so much. Especially with a recently maxxed out glass 5 in the arsenal here. The one thing glass had over most golems was now gone to the, far better in every catagory that matters, gem golem.

I'd like to revisit this in order to suggest a speed boost to 30. This would allow them to have something, ANYTHING to let them stand out. They would still be the ultimate challenge to keep alive, but at least they would have the chance to do some severe damage during the first couple rounds.

Pretty pretty please make glass golems useful again. They're not even worth building currently.

ill second this and say since it is so weak id think 50 speed would be very fair.Considering that golem is pretty much a walking 1-hit victory

No way that'd be as fast as the air elemental! I'd say it should be at most 40.

yes but considering the fact that IF they leave the HP the same AND change the speed to 50 all you need is 1 hit and BAM!!! raining glass.the only true thing one would even remotely begin to fear is a fully buffed and heavily armoured with maybe a spell of some sort.

personally, i would love to have a glass golem with a speed of 50. much less chance of prematurely detonating an 8-demon bag laiden glass "cruise missile" with defensive ranged weapons fire before it gets in your face and explodes. :-)

drackmore... you fail to realize that hp gained by inreasing level is linear rather than percentage-based (which always struck me as a little odd, but meh) When you talk, you should consider that a level 5 glass has 125 hp, and given that speed boosts invasion, would be very very difficult to kill.

*evasion. Invasion can be hastened by speed but normally also requires superior firepower.

With sufficient speed, firepower is meaningless, otherwise, the Ninja vs Pirate argument is completely meaningless, and people on the internet would never waste their time with something meaningless, right?

then lower their attack or acc.to make up for the fact that they move faster than lightning and have less health than a wet piece of paper.
also there new golem idea origami golems 1hp regardless of level has very high slash/cut damage.
