I have a level 2 wood golem I recently made, and sent it out to go kill the level 2 small rock elemental in Spire Valley, when it's all said and done I get 0 exp for the level 2 on level 2 fight... which seems odd.

A level 2 wood golem counts as a level 4 creature. It's a base level 3 for being wood, and add one more more being a level 2.

As all monster fights treat your golem as one level higher than that, the fight with the small rock elemental in Spire Valley counts as you bringing a level 5 golem to the fight.

In a nutshell: if your adjusted golem level is equal to the monsters you earn 5 XP. If it is one level above, then you earn 3 XP, two levels above is 1 XP, but three levels or more above is 0 XP.

On the plus side, the numbers go the other way if the monster is of a higher level than your golem. Of course, thenyou many times don't kill them and take severe damage, but that's how it works.
