This is a long thread, so don't know if it has been asked before, but I need a better dummy. Easy version: Please make it go to level 20 or thereabouts. Want to really see what my golem can withstand and what it can dish out. Version I like. Let the Dummy be a golem we all have - a puppet - and we need to give it arms, legs, powersources, eyes, armor, and even weapons. A virtual arena if you will ;) It is just a spinning pile of straw and twine at the moment - no reason I can't strap a breastplate on it... |

Seconded. Would like to add my own personal tweak to the above idea, the ability to give it a virtual copy of all the in-game items, weapons, armor, spells, all free but only attachable to the practise dummy. Allows us to actually test usefulness. (Would actually like two of the things to customize and tweak and make kill each other, but thats kind of stretching it.) |

But that would give an even bigger edge to offense. |

Ok, make it quest item or something (besides, we're overdue for more of them) - Magic Mirror: the ability to fight a "mirror" of the golem instead of the dummy. While being advantageous to offense, I can only test what I can get my hands on. (meaning a Melee clan can't test high level weapons against high level Defense clan items) |

Another thing that might be interesting would be a quest item which 'ate' different trophies from creatures around the game, and allowed your practice dummy to 'assume the form of' that creature for future sessions. That's simply a PVE thing of course, but it would certainly increase the enjoyment of those who don't PVP... I agree with Tzad's idea of only being able to test items you can actually acquire - its realistic and doesn't give a PVP edge. Perhaps for coding purposes you could limit the mirror to only mimic golems that are in the clan's depot... That would be a heck of a lot easier than coding the ability to make 'virtual' copies of every item/golem part/etc. Another thing one would want to be able to mimic for PVP testing is the wall and golembane spikes; perhaps yet another quest item for this purpose? Since the wall and spikes are pretty simple it would be very easy to add this to even the current practice dummy. -Shejali |
