The practice dummy has been improved as part of some tweaks to combat. Each "level" of the dummy -- which was previously a rather arbitrary increasing of its stats per level -- is now representative of golem types. For example, a dummy at level 1 is going to be on par with a basic flesh golem while at level 6 it'll be on par with a basic iron golem. This should make the dummy considerably more useful. Kep |

Can you be more specific? Dummies are not going to have upgraded eyes or anything (though letting folks upgrade their dummy's eyes might be an interesting idea for v2.1 of the game). Also, the combat code handles both dummies and regular combat, so any existing quirks of real combat will affect the practice dummy equally. Kep |

golems cant hit crap when attacking dummies. every attempt by any golem's we've tried have been incredibly inaccurate, even with eyes. you just cant hit dummies as well |

I have been practicing alot with the dummy, changing its levels and attacking with different golem types. I have also attacked a couple of different players that were defending with different golem types. I have also taken several attacks from other players. Judging by what I've seen through PvP combat, the practice dummy is accurately portraying combat between golems. You have to remember that combat between golems and monsters is quite different right now. My level 1 flesh golem has no problem taking out level 3 critters. But if I were to take that same flesh golem and attack what would be considered a level 3 golem, I would have my ass handed to me. You make more successful attacks and deal more damage against creatures of a specific level than against a golem of the same level. Its just part of the game mechanics right now. And I'm glad, otherwise I wouldn't be earning as much experience as I am. |
