Since I'm on a lan with a roommate [flagged as a 'multi'] I can't be a part of a clan, and therefore have no clan pvp protection [clan guard//"if you hit me, my clan will squash you".] To help with this I currently do missions for the Guard; it gets me a bit of exp and prevents people from attacking me too often. That being said, at the moment I can't tell exactly when my last guard mission will 'expire' and I'll be able to do a new one. If there were a timer visible showing when it will have been 24hr since your last guard mission it would make life considerably easier... Or maybe you could put in an option to automagically do missions for the guard each day and you would pay the motivation by a reduction in the rate at which you gain motivation or something. Another thing about being clanless that sucks is how we only get one golem to defend our workshops. I'd really like it if we could also have the option of putting a defender 'in the shadows' ready to hop out if our main guard goes down. Anyhow, just my .02 -ShejaliLast Edited: Jul 2, 2009, 12:24 am |

well there are a nuber of things you can do to stop being attacked 1)is you could go to like a library off campus and join a clan like tomu or otaku or some big clan 2)hire a mercinary to attack those that attack you and tell them that this will continue till they stop which they will 3)get better golem and to stay on the topic of the timer realy i believe it would be a waste of time because why should they tell you when they are not going to protect you anymore that is you own problem not theres |

Your account is already linked to the roommate one, I don't believe going to the library/changing IPs unlinks it at all. The only way to join a clan is to get premium. The account linking is permanent, even if you share an IP just -once-, from my experience. Mind you, I personally view this as horribly silly, but apparently it helps sell premium. Given the utter importance in joining a clan in this game... The thing to note is that you just need premium when you try to join a clan, not once you're already in it. You could probably eventually scrounge up enough tickets to hop in one... |

Yeah I'm working on getting enough tickets... but I'm pretty sure *both* of us need to be premium for it to consider me not a multi... Just means it'll take more time... In reply to your points drackmore; 1) what Dilt said. 2) ... after being drained of all my resources how exactly do I hire a mercenary? 3) Getting a better golem requires either purchasing one (requires resources) or making one (requires more resources than purchasing one)... In addition to that, there is a huge limitation to the strength of my golems since I cannot have any clan-only weapons/armor/power sources/eyes/etc *If* I were targeted by a big clan, the only way for me to continue playing would be under the protection of the Guard; everything else requires resources that I wouldn't have, or the interference of another guild which could lead to something akin to the MAGIER wars. Asking for a timer/record really isn't a stretch; as magi we know that the guard won't let us do more than 6 missions in a day... so we would just write down Day 1 ~mission 1 done at 10am ~mission 2 done at 12am ~mission 3 done at 1pm ~mission 4 done at 1:30pm ~mission 5 done at 2pm ~mission 6 done at 3pm Day 2 ~mission 7 done at 10:am ... ~etc **with minor variations such that time t(m) >= t(m-6) where t(x) is the time that mission x took place at... Also, in terms of programming this is a pretty easy thing to do. Just get the data from the table containing the guard mission time info and print it. Really not hard... |

or since it's so easy to do you could either write up your own program for it or just write the time down on a notepad and keep it next to your computer |

... Its easy IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE DATABASES Not something that I have access to. As for the notepad, sure I could do that. Except there are more than 1 persons out there who would like this I'm sure, and writing it down = waste of ink+paper... especially if there were 30 people who did it everyday. |

Yes and having Kep code something that is unusable by most if not all of the established user base while certain clans have been waiting quite a while for new toys and for clan wars to finally come out is a misuse of time. Plus we're just getting monsters to start dropping items and there are those market updates to work on and... Point is that there are many things that should be a higher priority than helping you with your sub-optimal use of motivation. And as another option, if anyone in particular is giving you excessive trouble just make a post somewhere about it, many of the folks that have been here a while seem to take offense at beating up on newer players. |

Oh, no. Just you need to be premium. Basically, it checks to see if you're premium when you join. If not, then it does multichecks. Premium members are immune entirely to the multi rules, even if the other acount isn't. I still think this is a stupid rule. Clans are -vital- to the game. You can't get any ranged weapons, improved armor, improved items, improved anything without being in one. You can't even get a second defender. Totally skewed in being in a clan. The guard quests which limit attacks aren't even that much of a useful trade. It's total fail. :( |

I don't see why it would such a big deal to code. And yes the game is extremely clan-orientated, which did put me off until I met the nice folks in Long Arms. Hugs Souji. Will write soon 'romises. :* |

CODE: x = SELECT * FROM recent_missions WHERE user_id=id; for(i=0;i++;i<6) { if(i > x.numrec) { break; } print x[i] + end line } Oh, and on the page you're already accessing the table that contains the info since you're calculating the number of missions you've done for the guard in the past 24 hrs. [sarcasm] But w/e. I would much prefer that clans get lvl 28 libraries with Gloves Of Uber Killing five minutes earlier. [/sarcasm] -Shekali |

No need for any hostility, guys. :) I can pretty easily put in something to show the list and expirations of your current missions. Added to the to-do list. Kep |
