So, it seems if you don't own the items on a golem (IE, a clan mate handed it off to you pre equipped, or somebody else put it in the Depot) the items it's equipped with don't show up on in the golem parts.

The items are still equipped, and take up weight, but the slots are shown as empty from your perspective, and armour doesn't affect the resistance numbers you see.
