I'm sorry... point wise, your mercury golem has higher defense than an adamant. The only thing that makes it "weak" defensively is that you can't armor it. Adamant resist: impact-10 slash-15 pierce-10 all elemental-7 Your mercury resist: impact-10 slash-10 pierce-20 all elemental-30 This would have higher innate resistance than an adamant (putting aside slash vs pierce damage) and higher elemental resist than all three exotic metals. It would be feasible to drop the ECL a little below adamant but not too much. Even the glass golem, which has no resistance, has an ECL of 8. |

But why does the glass golem have that high an ECL these days? I think I agree that this hypothetical mercury golem would get pretty abused facing any real weaponry. It might be good for hunting some things, depending on what its ECL ended up, but most of the higher level critters can beat those defense numbers fairly easily. |

The philosopher's stone, what would it do? Well it could be used for one to one one motivation cost on gems needed transmutations, completely restoring a golem lost parts and all, a bad ass hp regenerating power source (yes that one is a full metal reference) and or anything else Kep can think up. I mean its a bloody philosopher's stone. You could even have to sacrifice golems to make it... that sounds cooler then I intended for some reason. |
