To consolidate threads, please report all "phantom limb" issues here.

What is a Phantom Limb?

IRL, "Phantom Limb phenomenon" is when a person who has lost a limb still reports sensation, usually pain, in the area affected. This occurs likely because the brain still fires neurons that would correspond to nerves that no longer exist.

In Muelsfell, the Phantom Limb phenomenon occurs when a golem loses a part but fails to drop the items that were attached to that location. This results in weapons firing despite the hand that held them having been knocked off, and similar things.

The first incarnation of the phantom limb bug was a result of an error in the "return clan weapon" code, resulting in clan weapons and anything on the same part as the weapon "floating". Currently, this issue still crops up in unexpected conditions, and a cause is not known.

Clay golem (#50956) vs. Grand Widow. A pair of crits destroyed the left arm. Left hand had a golden bunny ring which still shows equipped and still fires on combat.

Another case, caused by magic spell attack. A sonic blast from the Scream spell blew away the head, but the eyes stay as equipment on the golem:

Base lines of importance:

~~~ Damage in round 4:
A terrible scream explodes from Bone Golem! The head(27 dmg) is struck by the noise! The head is destroyed by the spell!
~~~ Results:

Bone Golem did 0 dmg while his Flesh Golem did 5 dmg.

The wall took 44 dmg.

You earned 3 xp and Xorphitus earned 7 xp.

Your golem will be back at your workshop in 1 min 30 sec.

~~~ no drop message and the examination of the said golem showed it still has its eyes equiped. Report has been forwarded to Arkham.
This is still occurring with the Scream spell.
A terrible scream explodes from Stone Golem! The head(19 dmg) is struck by the noise! The head is destroyed by the spell! The combat stalls as both opponents either lack the energy to attack or are in no condition to strike back.Your Stone Golem holds its ground while his Steel holds its ground.
Eyes show as still being attached.
Forwarded the report to Arkham and Atropos.
new info: After adding a replacement head, the eyes and armor reappeared already mounted on the golem.
