Well, I understand that from a programming perspective having an item either be weaponry or armor is nice and easy, but what about items that do both? I would like to suggest a few. in this format name RESISTANCES blunt, slicing, piercing, fire, cold, sonic DAMAGE blunt, slicing, piercing, fire, cold, sonic EQUIPPABLE head, hands, legs, etc... WEIGHT W RANGE X SPEED Y SPECIAL does it do anything else? the spiked buckler RESISTANCES 15,15,15,10,10,10 DAMAGE 0,0,2,0,0,0 EQUIPPABLE hands WEIGHT 40 RANGE n/a SPEED n/a SPECIAL n/a braided steel noose RESISTANCES n/a DAMAGE 5,0,0,0,0,0 EQUIPPABLE hands WEIGHT 35 RANGE 60 SPEED 10 SPECIAL upon successful hit, if defender has a lower (strength*level) reduce distance by 10ft unless distance <= 10ft. shoulderpad of might RESISTANCES 5,5,0,0,0,3 DAMAGE n/a EQUIPPABLE arms WEIGHT 40 RANGE n/a SPEED n/a SPECIAL +10 strength(even if the strength is maxed) Well, that's all the equip ideas for now. Throw in any of yours here with the same format :) |

What about some items that boost luck? Lucky Rings or bangles like in Kingdom Hearts or something of the sort? Maybe they would be monster drops and you would have to be extraordinarily lucky to even get one? Say, you have a 1 in 100 chance of getting one. And it would be a higher level creature that drops it, like the Runic Bonewalker or something of the like. Once you have one, the ring increases rare drops such as the dragon scales, smoked cheese and the like by 10%. I suppose the benefits of the ring would stack, but the ring would have no effect on your chances of getting another ring. |

Neat idea except one comment: 1 in 100 isn't THAT rare really IMO |

10%, so a 5% drop would become 5.5%?, or do you mean the much more powerful and more broken 10 point boost, so 5% becomes 15%? One of the things I'd like to see is a pure elemental moderately fast and powerful 2-3 slot chest-mounted ranged weapon with a relatively low energy cost. This would entice ranged clans to use lesser powersources that are in danger of being stolen, but still use fairly large golems. Pure elemental means a lack of a minimum damage, which means it'd be useless against a properly armoured golem or dragon, and allows it to be faster without being unbalanced. Now that I've given my ideas, I'll try to put some numbers to them, the ideas are so that the purpose of the weapon isn't lost in the inevitable tweaking for balance and such. Name: <Insert Name> Damage: 25 Fire, 15 sonic Range: 60 ft Library Level: 14 Speed: 15 Cost: <primes appropriate for the name> 20,000 Copper, 7,500 Brass, 15,000 Gems Ammunition: <something new> |

Maybe it could be a little lower in chance or raise the chances of getting one, but either way...Last Edited: Nov 13, 2009, 6:47 am |

I considered making it higher, but I thought that might be pretty high if the monster was say, level 16 Not really- I can average about 30-35 hits a night against the Ice Princess. And that's without eating any of the pork and ice cream I'd be finding. Plus, if my chances of getting those foods went up by 10% after I found my first ring... well, I'd never have to stop. I'd suggest maybe a 2% increase to finding (added, not multiplied) and non-stackable. |

I think a stackable multiplicative bonus would be more blanced than a nonstackable additive one. It would allow things designated as rare to remain rare, so if Kep decided he wanted something that dropped .1% of the time, it wouldn't suddenly become 2.1%, increasing the drop rate by 2000%. This would also allow the number on the item to be higher, however, I'd recommend 20-25%. The dragons' breaths can be minned (except for Akhen and Marsh) which implies that there is no minimum for pure elemental weapons (well, there is, it's 1, but it's not strength based). If it's an area effect weapon, it's not really any nastier, it'd just save some weight on a Crystal Focus, but since it wouldn't be able to use a Steam Engine anyway, that might not matter so much. As far as items go... I've got no sympathy, you guys can increase power insanely, increase accuracy far more than anyone else, and negate just about every penalty known to man, plus your demon bags are capable of knocking items out of a chest, so I'ma just stick my tongue out at you and fart in your general direction. |

Combat Padding RESISTANCES: 2,0,1, 0,1,0 EQUIPPABLE: All WEIGHT 5 SPECIAL: Reduces Damage by one after all other modifiers. Reinforced Padding: RESISTANCES: 3,1,1, 0,1,1 EQUIPPABLE: All WEIGHT 5 SPECIAL: Reduces Damage by one after all other modifiers. So this Armor is The reverse of strength bonuses. even giving chance to reduce damage to Zero. The most damage reduction possible is 6 on the chest and abdomen. but the padding it's self offers little protection so most parts would have around 1 or 2. |

If you could, can you edit suggestions into your most recent post when you're the last poster in the thread rather than double- or triple-posting? I'd appreciate it. |

Dragon Tooth Necklace. RESISTANCES: 0,0,0,5,5,5 EQUIPPABLE: Head WEIGHT: 2 pounds Low Drop rate off non unique dragons (you don't get much of a chance to pull teeth out of the greater ones do ya XP ) |

awesome idea for the non-unique dragons, but I'd reduce the resists to 4 in each of the elements just to make it less swingy. Gigakoi Capitate Damage: 0,0,14,0,0,0 Weight: 20lbs Range: 30 Speed: 15 A very rare item, maybe a quarter percent drop rate on the saurian dragon rider. Last Edited: May 21, 2010, 2:19 am |

how about Sword Of The Fallen damage: 0,10,6,0,0,0 Weight: 10 range: 10 Speed: 20 maybe when the hand that the sword is in is destroyed or the arm after the fight you get a report about a weird glow coming from your storage. and the sword is there. maybe weaker in someway IE: shorted range, heavier, slower speed in correlation to heavier sword. but the more player's golems you completely destroy with the sword the stronger it gets. maybe 20K kills you can trade the sword in to someone for a far more powerful version. |
