Gordon turns to Five "I'm glad you asked that question. The wraiths view living creatures and some golems, as a power source or sustenance. Wraiths are magical creatures and live directly off magic and when they use any powers they pull it directly from themselves, hence why regular wraiths do not use any magic in normal combat as it would weaken them considerably. And Yes I did try to reason with some... It ended poorly when the wraith in question riped my copper golem in half and tried to do the same thing to me." The Image shifts again too an image of Mulesfell in it's entirety. "After the First rift I set up some 'sensors' all around muelsfell that measures massive bursts of power, and when these beings." On the map appears purple spots. The first over Old Forge mountain. Another appears over the Wastes, and Bossenwelle Valley. "These sport on the map are areas affected by larger then normal uses of energy and more importantly a form of 'dark energy' which I believe are used by the wraiths, possibly even what there made of."Last Edited: Nov 19, 2009, 7:19 pm |

Semaj continues his drawing while paying attention as best he can to what Gordon was explaining. He looks up for a brief moment to survey the map. "So these are the potential hot spots for stronger things to jump though into this dimension? And can your sensors pick up the smaller openings? If so could we not set up some defenses to prevent the smaller ones from setting up sites for the bigger ones?" Semaj asks these questions while still being much fixated on the drawing he was working on. He picks his drawing up and holds it out in front of him then tilts his head to the side as if he was attempting to figure out what he was looking at. He then sets the drawing down and continues to work on at waiting to hear an answer to his questions. |

Kyomi listens and shakes her head, mind spinning her own theories as to what is going on. Her face also shows worry, as some of what Ironsmith is saying is getting close to her own heritage. Then, she perks up, as if someone had poked her side. Closing one eye, she starts mumbling to herself. |

The copper golem frowns at the mention of coppers being ripped in half. She really wishes the humans would TRY to be sensitive to the issues at hand - after all, if she casually joked about a human being ripped in half, they'd be properly disgusted. Just because the golem in question was probably unsparked doesn't make it any less stomach-turning. |

Laidan pipes up again "So what are you proposing here?" Meanwhile he's considering some new power sources he'd spotted on a few golems lately, wondering if there is a connection |

"What I'm proposing is an Early strike, these rifts has left me incapable of dealing with this myself or of even a small group. I hope I can gain the support of several groups so that we may strike." Gordon voice talks on a commanding tone, though he doesn't sound like he's ordering anyone. "If we strike now we can prevent any significant loses, but if we don't act soon. People will die." |

"People will die regardless, you simply seek to make the losses as small as possible. But what kind of early strike are you proposing? Simply guarding places with existing rifts or places that are likely to develop rifts would only prolong the inevitable..." Nanashi says, considering. "Do you mean to try and send people through the rifts to stop the wraiths on the other side?" he asks incredulously. |

Mech's thoughts echo Nanashi's. "A strike against nature itself? You claim these rifts are necessary for all magic to exist - what if they are needed for golemancy to function?" |

Five leans back, pondering the implications of what he's heard. He somewhat absently reaches over to place a comforting hand on Mech's shoulder to calm her. He can understand her displeasure but still peace and self-control must be maintained. "While defending our lands is both noble and practical, an attack on foreign lands, against an largely unknown foe, with a victory that might disrupt the very fabrics that govern our world... I hope your plan has more to it than this, good Magus." Five's tone is civil and calm, if a bit preachy. He's getting better at being social, friendly, but he falls back into old habits when stressed or dealing with strangers. Alpha, the smaller flesh based golem, finally looks away from the golem peeking in the window to pay more attention to the goings on inside. A new fight, one uncluttered by old histories, one with a clear enemy... it might be nice to have a new cause to believe in, even just for a while. And perhaps he can make a difference, can help enough, suffer enough to finally... his thoughts disperse as he stares down at his hands. |

"An attack on the wraiths would be pure suicide. They have little support here, but across the limbo between rifts, into there own world." Gordon Shudders. "In their world, if that's what it is, they hold all the cards." Gordon pauses momentarily. "As for a plan of action I can't be completely sure what we will face, but I have for the precise locations of the rifts the wraiths have opened, and how much activity is occurring." As Gordon begins explaining his plans in length a messenger comes flying into the room and runs to the Dimitrian Republican table. "What!" General Stewart Yells (One of the high ranking officers of the Republican guard.) "I have been made aware that the people of Agoia Talia has been attacked. I apologize but we must leave." The Republican guard all being leaving. Gordon waves up a retainer, and whispers something in his ear. Turning back to the crowd. "It appears the wraiths activity has escalated much further then I thought possible. Those of you here willing to help defend the people of Muelsfell please come with me. Everyone else please enjoy my clans hospitality. Evening." Gordon rushes out of the hall paying little attention to those who call out to him. (OOC: Alright Gordon has left and won't wait long for those who wish to join him. I'll be starting a new thread in a couple days. Though I will continue RPing as the retainer to answer the questions (as best he can) of those in the Hall.)Last Edited: Nov 20, 2009, 2:33 am |

At some point in the confusion, Ace, Sconi, Jellikal, and Raiden seem to have snuck off. They must have some devious plan. . . |

Semaj finishes his drawing. He looks at it for a moment. It was a drawing of a wraith. This wraith was bigger than the small ones but smaller than the big one and a lot meaner looking. "Oh, shit.... I remember now." Semaj touches the back of his head with his right hand and feels a scar that is a lot fresher than most of the scars he has. "We could be in a lot of trouble." Semaj looked out the window Petros was blocking. "Petros! Break time is over, we have to go!" "Yes father!" Petros gets up and rushes over to the door to meet Semaj. Semaj quickly catches up with Gordon and hands him the picture he drew. Semaj conveys the sense of danger the drawn creature would pose though his eyes. "I bet you haven't seen one of these... yet. Ask questions later ok?" Semaj walks though the doors with Gordon and is immediately picked up by Petros and set on his left shoulder. "Follow Mr. Ironsmith, be ready for a fight." "Aren't I always?" Petros replies. ((OCC: And exit stage right!)) |

Laidan gets up and follows after Ironsmith, "Ah, a bit of excitement at last, dragon hunting was getting a bit dull," he quips to whoever happens to be nearby. |

Nanashi, nonplussed, remains seated watching some of the people leave. His eyes cloud over, losing some of their color, and he murmurs "The things man will do..." |

Shan hastily stuffs the papers he had been reading into his pack as he eagerly follows after Ironsmith and the others, grinning widely. This would hopefully be an interesting battle. Wait... Agoia Tallia is pretty far away. The thought of a threat to others got a much grimmer reaction than the thought of threats to himself. Shan's smile fades as he doubles his pace. 'At least I'll get a chance to stop home and stock up along the way,' he thinks on the way out. |

Kyomi stands and holds out a hand, as if she is going to handshake someone invisible. With a little pull, she is suddenly accompanied by masterslug. "See? Like walking through a door." |

Thuriya watches as Magi and Golems form a steady trickle leaving the conference. She turns to her bone golem and says, "Please accompany the group heading to the conflict, but observe only. Agolia Talia is outside of Kern, so we have no authority in this matter. I will return to present a report to Her Majesty and the Privy Council. Be careful and send a signal if you need backup." With that she hands a small device to her golem sho places in away in safety and heads after the departing group. She watches it leave, then organizes her notes and places them in a courier bag and seals it. She then addresses the remaining assemblage, "This matter falls outside of the current orders of the Corps. We will send an observer, but I must return to report on these proceedings. Good Day to one and all." She then executes a brief courtesy to all, then settles her bags and heads out on her return home. |

Alpha and Five exchange a long, thoughtful look. Finally, Five sighs windily, then shrugs. "As you will, my old comrade" he says with a half-smile. Alpha nods, then stands to follow the crowd out and onward. Not like he has to get a golem or anything... and with his repeater dart tube fully loaded, he's a match for at least one wraith. Perhaps two if he's lucky- and if one of the Magi there was willing to do simple repairs in the field, he should be good for the duration. Helping people again... it sounds nice. And the wraith are mostly see-through... no surprises there. Five turns back to Mech. "We should likely report the proceedings to the rest of our kin and the Clan. A council must be called to decide our course." Five is fond of calling councils, honestly. He figures that if more things were decided by civil discussion, the world would be a much nicer place. |

"Good you're here..." She gives masterslug a pat on the shoulder and turns to Her Shadow, "Go ahead, but no magic... Not yet." With a bow, Her Shadow replies, "Yes Mistress." And he is gone. Turning back, Kyomi answers Masterslug's question. "Gordon has some ideas on the temporal wraiths, and while here, listening to him, there has been an attack. We are going to see what damage control we can do. And did you really give Golat permission to gather up the spare irons?" |

Nanashi returns to himself, his eyes unclouding. He turns hearing masterslug's voice, then sees the cat in his arms. "Oh... it's you," he says, sotto voce. The cat looks at Nanashi and trills, "mrrrow." His large eyes glitter as his ears perk forward. The cat jumps out of masterslug's arms and runs after Gordon and the golems. Nanashi watches the cat go and yells after him, "Don't cause too much trouble! Or no fish when you get back! ...and you can forget the masseuse!" An offended meow can faintly be heard in reply. Nanashi turns back to masterslug and Kyomi, saying, "If you will forgive, I fear that I have scrolls and records threatening to bury my desk. So I will be heading back to headquarters... the slow way." He rubs his temple before bowing, then departs waving goodbye to the other people in the room. |
