Just a quick question. I'm close enough to the OCR that hunting Cubes might be a good use of Motivation, but before I send my hard-built constructs to a messy death, I'm wondering: what works best against the Cubes? Are they worth fighting, or am I better off just hitting the other monsters of similar levels? Any other pertinent data? Thanks for any replies! |

I use a level 1 gem to very good effect, but you might be able to get away with something less expensive to repair. |

I'm...a long way from being able to use Gem. :( Anything else? I've got an open spell slot, so if necessary I could go for an elemental offense. Does the Cube have any extant weaknesses that we know about? And what kind of damage is "whips" exactly, anyway? I assume slashing, but it's hard to say sometimes... |

I don't farm the cube personally, but another member of my clan, phatsmahoney, has told me that he farms the cube daily. I believe he is using a stone golem, but I can't say much more than that. I'll send him a message to take a look at this thread. |

The great thing about the cube is that it drops a chainmail, which would lead me to assume the "whips" are slashing perhaps. It also drops a medium iron plate, but VERY rarely. I'll play around with it a bit. The level 1 stone I was using was using an Iron Halberd, but since you're a magic primary, I'm not so sure. Like Laidan, I use a level 1 gem and hardly ever need to repair. I love the thing because it's really close to me and I get 10xp without any repair costs. |

Good to know, folks! Thanks! Phats, I tried responding to your PM but your mailbox is full. In short, I don't have much to offer you right now, but I appreciate your generous offer and will keep it in mind. May your enemies fall before you and your chewing gum never lose its flavor!Last Edited: Nov 17, 2009, 7:16 pm |

You can probably buy a gem1 on the market - they're very handy Last Edited: Nov 17, 2009, 7:31 pm |

Yeah, if you can't get one from a clanny, I'll sell you a gem1 or gem2 torso at cost (7500 or 11250 gems), or trade for some other resource, because I'm just that generous :) |

Just a quick follow-up. I'm now using a level 1 Gem Golem to smack cubes around periodically. Funny, I don't know why so many people complain about cube farming. *Rimshot* |
