The Library's overall requirement has dropped slightly to Workshop Level 5.

However, the requirements for each of the research types now includes a minimum library level. For example, Wood Golem lvl 1 research now requires Locust Tree Lvl 3 AND Library Lvl 3. Eyes became easier (requiring Library lvl 2) but things like iron golems became harder (requiring Library lvl 9 as well as Foundry lvl 6).

The purpose of these changes is to spread out the golem researches, so that folks can't jump to iron and stone golems as quickly as before. There are combat tweaks to come as well which will improve the middle level golems (wood, clay, etc), so hopefully this won't make things too rough on folks meanwhile. :)

If you have already researched a particular type of golem or artificer item, this will NOT affect your ability to build parts on the worktable or in the artificer.

I'm still examining the costs to upgrade the lower levels of the library and will likely tweak these downward somewhat in the next day or two. High level library requirements will remain rather difficult. The overall library requirement may drop slightly again after I revisit the upgrade costs (perhaps as low as Workshop Level 3).

And part of this tweaking is to not show the additional researches available until requirements are met, I assume?

Ya scared the hell out of me when I hit the library first thing this morning. :)

Oops, yeah. I was a bit tired when I posted, so I had forgotten that. :)

The big list of what was available was a little cluttered IMO, so I decided to just show those that you were close to qualifying for.

Premiums still see the big list, but I'm debating on whether that's actually a useful feature or if it just makes things too cluttered again. Kinda leaning towards "too cluttered" but willing to listen to folks' thoughts on it.

You could always make it an option for the premium members. That way they can make the choice themselves.

I like seeing the full list personally, it seems odd with the partial list.

I agree. I'd like knowing what's needed to pursue a particular line of research.

I've added the first three levels of requirements to the Help Pages [help.muelsfell.com/charts.php].

Just realised something.

Without the full list of researches shown, you wont be able to erase researches that arent close to a new level yet.

something to think about.

The bug with the library not displaying the researches you already have has been corrected.

A new player is told to build a library to research other golem types, but they are not told anywhere (except this forum thread) what is needed to build a library. This is confusing.

Yup, it is. It's something I'll be correcting. First I have to decide how to tweak the lower level library requirements.

Hopefully will have it done sometime today. :)

The change is live.

What I did was make Library Lvl 1 a default building level (IE, one of the buildings you get when your account is created). Those players who didn't have a Library built were manually given the first level.

Before you can upgrade the Library to Lvl 2, you still must meet the Workshop Lvl 5 requirement.

As far as resource requirements, I simply rolled the requirements down one level. In other words, what used to be the requirements for Library Lvl 8 are now the requirements for Library Lvl 9. This should make the money costs slightly easier while maintaining upgrade difficulty on the higher levels.

Let me know additional problems! :D

The chart area in the help files is very nice. Are there any plans to make a similar "requirements" chart (like the research chart) for building workshop improvements?

i.e. I found the "Library" improvement requirements by searching through the forums, but it would have been helpful to be able to see it in either the charts, or as a link from the workshop page. I haven't been able to locate the "basement" requirements...
